Anyway, he is close to signing for Internazionale according to Di Marzio and Romano, with Federico Dimarco going the other way, so this could be a non-starter (probably a case of the player's representative or Verona's management creating a market for the player). Marotta/Conte presumably want to develop a young central defensive core with players like Bastoni and Pirola behind De Vrij and Škriniar (Godín/Ranocchia are unlikely to be part of the long term plans), and Kumbulla would be a signing in that direction as he is already experienced in a back-3.
