Yes very much doubt it’s true. Imagine been told you’re sacked as a manager and thus same club who sacks you also dictates how you go about future employment.

Yeah, we don't want to honour our contract unless we hinder your future employment prospects. Oh and we don't want you now either. Proper dick move.

If spurs sacked Poch, I'm not sure how that's even legal to try and claw the money back. Unless he's on gardening leave.

On the contrary I think it’s effectively a common occurrence. I’m surprised we aren’t in a similar position with Mourinho.

If someone is sacked then the employer has to compensate them for any financial loss. Often a club will continue to pay monthly until such times as the employee secures alternative employment.

If Spurs sack Pochettino then one month later he gets a new job on more money, they’re only really due him a month’s pay. Why would you have to compensate someone who is already being paid more money?

Of course there could also be something specific written into the terms of the contract.

Because he didn't want to leave, to get him out of his position, they had to pay out the remainder of his contract. I dont see how if he didn't want to leave, why he should lose out financially for getting a new job. Like if Chris hughton got the Watford job, should he pay back his Brighton pay out?

That being said, you might be right having something in the contract, but if you've basically rescinded it, how can they enforce that at all? POch would have had to have signed some competition clause upon leaving, which would be fecking retarded of him if he did.
