Premier League Winter Break

No one has been talking about reducing the traditional matches, it has always been about a break in early/mid january.
 
Would getting rid of the League Cup make much difference? Those games are all played midweek anyway - people are already giving out about them moving FA Cup games to midweek to make space for this.

Scrap FA Cup replays and League Cup and the lower league clubs are going to be rightly pissed off.
 
Wonder who they gonna blame next if they scrap everything around winter break.
 
Great weather during the winter break, month of snow straight after = really stupid idea.

Also, they'll arrange some lucrative friendlies with each other, anyway.
 
I enjoy the Christmas period partly because I'm always on vacation during that time. If a winter break came into effect, I would propose post New Years and have a two week break.

For people who don't watch American sports, NBA always plays on Chritsmas Day and NFL usually has three games on Thanksgiving. The difference here is not every teams plays on those holidays.

I see people's point about playing through the holidays but I think two weeks off in January would work well.
