FA CUP
The FA Cup competition starts next week on Thursday 4th January with the 3rd Round Proper. There are 64 teams still in the competition and 32 matches.
However, for the prediction competition we will only predict the ties which involve Premier League teams in this round - there are 16 matches to predict.
The same scoring system applies as per the Premier League and Champions League competitions. 3 points for a correct score, 1 point for a correct result and 3 points for the First Goal Scorer. There will also be a Double Points Match as usual which for the 3rd round will be nominated by the winner of the current week's fixtures - i.e. the winner of PL GW19.
Last season there were head to head ties in each round where the loser was eliminated. This season there will still be head to head ties but the loser will not be eliminated and the winner will gain 3 bonus points for winning their tie. The draw is automatic. The first poster to post their predictions will be drawn against the last poster to post their predictions for that week, the second versus the second last and so on. Should there be an odd number of entries then the poster in the middle will gain 3 points by default.
Should there be replays involving Premier League clubs these will also be predicted.
The FA Cup competition will also count towards the overall competition (PL+CL+FAC)
Posters can enter any of the competitions at any time (as long as the match they are predicting hasn't started yet) there are hundreds of points to be won.
Please remember not to amend your posts after any match in your prediction has kicked off - if you wish to amend anything for matches that haven't yet kicked off then make a new post.
The fixtures for the 3rd round will be posted this weekend.
Note that after 2nd January (GW20) there is only one round of PL fixtures (GW21) between the 3rd and 4th rounds of the FA Cup. PL GW21 is spread over two weekends from 13th Jan to 22nd Jan.
Any rules not shown here will apply from the opening posts of this thread. Any doubt - please contact me.
