Welcome to the Premier League Predictions 2024/2025 competition - fifth edition. @Unitedlife has won the last three editions clinching the last title on the last day of the season by one point.
The number of participants is unlimited and participants can join at any time during the competition. A tag line will be given to the winner of the competition as kindly agreed by @Damien
Game Week 1 starts Friday 16th August 8pm. (UK time)
Game Weeks will be taken from https://www.premierleague.com/fixtures
Rules are listed below.
All predictions for a particular game must be in before the game is scheduled to kick off, however late entries will be accepted but not for games already started.
You cannot make any changes after you have submitted your entry for that week of games after the first match of that week has kicked off, even if the game you want to change hasn't started. Instead, please make a new post omitting predictions for the games already started.
Please try to submit your entries as early as possible. Results and standings will be published as soon as possible after the last game of the week has finished. (Hopefully by the following day at the latest).
FGS (First Goal Scorer) predictions are allowed for every match and will be worth three points.
Scoring:
3 points for FGS (First Goal Scorer) of every game in the week.
3 points for Correct Score. eg Prediction 2-1 (Result 2-1)
1 point for Correct Result. eg Prediction 2-2 (Result 1-1)
Various changes had been deliberated but the only change to previous years will be that this season there will be 2 Double Points Matches per round of matches (one of which will be selected by a previous week's highest scorer), ie: Correct Result = 2pts, Correct Score = 6pts, First Goal Scorer = 6pts.
The first predictor scoring the highest points of any week gains an extra 3pts and gets to select the Double Points Match of their choice for the next round of matches. Everyone with a highest scoring points in any week will also get the 3 bonus points.
Gameweek 1 Double Points Match will be chosen by GW38 Winner from last season: @Unitedlife :
@Unitedlife has chosen the Nottm Forest v Bournemouth game as the first Double Points Match.
The second Double Points Match will be Chelsea v Man City.

If, for any reason, a match is postponed, you will still be able to predict it whenever it is played at a later date. All 380 matches can be predicted.

FAQ:
- If you forecast a 0-0 draw correctly - you gain 3 points. No extra points for putting ‘no goalscorer’. However you can nominate a FGS as a backup which if the result is not 0-0 then maybe your FGS can redeem the points.
- If you wish to change a prediction, please make a new post. Do not amend a post that includes a match that has already kicked-off otherwise you will lose any points gained prior to your amendment. A new post will overwrite a previous post.
- Please post your predictions before the scheduled kick-off time. If the scheduled kick-off time is 3pm - then if your post is timed at 3.01pm you are too late. Rules are strictly adhered to, for fairness to all.
