Premier League matchweek 2 (august 19th-21th)

As a lone striker in this extremely conservative counter-attacking system he's doing all he can, sure. I was thinking more long term -- it's just a bit interesting how Lukaku hasn't really been replaced like-for-like with a pure goalscoring number 9, improvement looks to be dispersed elsewhere in the side. It's a bit more of a riskier plan, in my eyes.

Apparently we are still in the market for one.

Boring as hell this

Going to go watch something else and come back in an hour and hope something's happened

This is such a poor quality match. For all the money City have spent they don't look that scary
They buy players who can supply width and guess what? Everything's going through the middle and it's predictable

This back three is limiting Everton's passing options. The fullbacks are too far away, and they're just passing between the CBs before launching a long ball.

Such is City's dominance, despite the scarcity of chances, you do feel it's going to be hugely difficult for Everton if City do manage to get one. City just push you back, and because you rarely have the ball when you do get it you're reserved in how you use it.
Everton's midfielders aren't doing enough to make themselves available. Good defensive work from Jagielka so far; that little shove on Aguero in the box was great, just enough to put him off the shot.
