Premier League Matchday 8

So you’re making a stupid point in anticipation of the possibility that others might’ve made a stupid point if a different set of events happened?

Weird way to live life mate.
I know they would have. Don't take it all so seriously.

How the feck does that count?

Pass is played to Salah, who is miles offside, the defender slides in for the sole purpose of stopping him getting it and gives it to Firmino for an open goal.

All the injuries? Obviously VVD but who else? Henderson?

Matip was missing most season, playing only 10 PL games. Gomez was out all season pretty much, playing only 7 games. That’s their three main CBs.

They had at different points Fabinho, Henderson, and Phillips playing at the back (IIRC)

An equivalent for us would’ve been Lindelof, Maguire, and Bailly being out for almost the whole season and playing one of McTominay/Fred/Matic at the back along side Tuanzebe.

Absolute class from Salah. Watfords defence is atrocious though.

Ridiculous anyone thinking we're even close to this Liverpool team, they are God tier!!

I find Salah really unlikeable, probably because of who he plays for.

I'm sick of us being God awful and them just sailing through matches

Salah may just carry Liverpool to another title this season, honestly he’s that good, fecking annoying

Klopp will probably squeeze one more title out of this squad (always likely), and Real will come calling for Salah (wishful thinking).

Their 3rd place with all the injuries last year will eventually get the respect it deserves, like Mourinhos 81 points

Well said. Klopp's ability to exploit the best from his team is top notch. Milner is having a 3rd youth, he plays like he was 21 yo and Matip 5 years ago was a horrible CB, now he's like Baresi. Even Firmino who had a horrible 20-21 season is returning to form.

Achieving 81 points in any other season pre-2017 would have been enough to win the league. SAF won it with 80 points in 2010-11. Leicester won it in 15-16 with 81 points. In contrast, we have losed it by goal difference and +8 points in 12-13 to City and Liverpool losed it achieving 97 point in 2018-19.

Apparently Salah is now the best in the world because he's scored a solo goal against the Watford defense.

Going into this week Liverpool had the highest xG in the league so far. Salah is a big part of why they're playing well but it isn't just down to him, they're creating chances well as a team.

Matip was always a good player, he just can't stay fit.

He's probably the most on form player to be fair. He's had a sensational start to the season unfortunately.
