Premier League - Matchday 20

Knew as soon as Utd scored that they had scored too early. Seen a good few Liverpool games at home the past couple of seasons where it seems they need something to jolt them into life.

Will be another game they don't play that well but still get the 3 points.

What a great tackle by Yoro. Saved United there

Fecking Maguire....

I’ll take a point based on the performance because we could’ve and maybe should’ve lost that. So many poor performances. Glad that game is over.

United were excellent. Fernandes and Ugarte very good. Encouraging signs for them.

Kind of pissed off we’re letting arsenal get away with dropping points.

Great second half. united probably with their gutsiest performance of the season. Really raised their game as expected.

Great game.

Man. United thoroughly deserved that point for digging in when needed. We'll see soon enough if it's another false dawn for them.

Liverpool were rash and surprisingly lack composure for much of the afternoon so that's something for Slot to note ahead of the CL knockouts. Szoboszlai was a miss there.

You see I don't quite think it's over yet.

Arsenal have got most of their tough aways done now so the glimmer for them is they win their games if you drop points at likes of Man. City, Chelsea, Villa etc on those weekends.

Goodison in February if Everton have a new manager then isn't quite a done deal either.

Liverpool have now dropped points in 3 of their last 6 games. If Arsenal can get their shit together, the title is there for them to take.

Actually Konate’s legs got tired in the second half which really hurt. He usually makes up for Trent’s miscues but unfortunately didn’t have the legs for it in the second half. Going forward he will obviously get more match fitness and we roll on again.

That’s the first time I’ve seen Liverpool play this season. Amazed how vulnerable they looked at the back. Obviously not at their best, but from that display I’m amazed how big the gap is at the top of the table.

I think they'll kind of feel the same that Liverpool have dropped points a bunch of times recently and they've not capitalized.

Liverpool really struggle at Goodison. I have no idea why anyone assumes that's a win for them. I don't see them getting more than a draw.

Haven’t Arsenal also dropped in three of their last six? Think they’ve matched our results.

On United, the one question now is can they go and put a performance in against sides they’re expected to come out and beat? Southampton at home is a completely different game to Liverpool away.

xG is weird. 2.87 for us vs 1.03 for United completely misrepresents how that game went.

Nottingham Forest at 3rd with a game in hand at the half-way stage of the season, it will be mental if they can make top 4. I won't believe it until I see it. Incredible achievement for a club who was only promoted just 2 seasons ago and were favourites for relegation. What is going on at their club. Another Leicester in the making?

They'll comfortably beat Southampton even if they put in a poor performance. After that it's Brighton at home and Fulham away so that's a better guide I think. Both teams on their day are dangerous on the break and have both beaten Man. United in 2024 so if they get four points than Amorim is likely over the worst this season.

A penalty always bumps up xG by pretty much 1.00. You also had two very good chances early on, Gapko through but hit it wide and then a very good close range save by Onana to deny Alexis Mac.

After that though the general flow of the game was pretty even and Liverpool created their best chances with rapid breaks from Man. United corners.

VVD free header from 5 yards out. Also penalty = 0.8 xG

liverpool's xG is fair. United's seems a bit low though, I agree

That was probably the worst we've played this season and probably the best you've played this season. I am pretty happy with the draw.

We really missed Szoboslai. Jones was not on it today.

Think if he and Bradley starts that game, we win it with a minimum of fuzz. TAA really opened the game for you. Should have been hooked far sooner.
