Premier League GW11

While Spurs have conceded half the goals of MUFC this season so far, which signals their defensive solidity, they have also outscored Manchester United by 2 goals not counting this current game.
Thats called efficient football, which is not neccesarily the same as fun football.

They’ll score a good amount of goals over the season, they have two quality forwards. Scoring goals doesn’t necessarily equal attractive football, though. Palace scored five today but I don’t think we’d all be in a hurry to say their football is free flowing either.

How did we lose to this Arsenal team, they're woeful. Arteta making Ole look like SAF :wenger:
Not taking anything from spurs but individual quality won them the game. At least thast what most would say if Ole was in charge today

Arsenal have been attacking this entire half and yet created only one proper chance. Really poor.

Lloris hasn't made a single save guys. Mourinho has made us so organized & focused without the ball. If any we are horrible to play against
Tbh I was just joking and making a point about how some posters on here don't think counter attacking is a style of play.

I remember when we defeated them 3-1 at Emirates with Mourinho in charge De Gea was literally saving ton of sitters. Today Loris made only one save despite them attacking all the half. The quality of their attack has gone down hill.

No goals since early October from open play in the league if they don't score one here.

Of course I know this.

So we’re just critiquing the aesthetic value of the football? That’s fine, but leagues and cups are won on the score line not the beauty. Wenger’s Arsenal played beautiful football for many, many years even after they stopped winning. A footnote of PL history.

Ultimately Mou’s doing his job right. We should all not be too shy or proud to give him a thumbs up for getting Spurs top of the table after this game.

17th attack in the league. 15th or 16th in chance creation

Does Willian offer anything except free kicks?
And the one freekick they had outside the box in the first half, Lacazette and Xhaka were standing over it..

You can't control 100% what the other team does, especially idf it's a powerful one like Arsenal. What Tottenham is doing is forcing Arsenal wide, to Tierney and Bellerin and never in key central areas. This way you won't prevent goals coming in but greatly minimises clear chances for the opposition. Notice Spurs players are never defending on the limit and Arsenal chances come from deep crosses which have a low probability of goal.

Now there's much more micro managament going on between two PL teams looking to take advantage and create space in dangerous areas but this match, as usual this season, Spurs have been superior. If you don't like it that's fair enough. I personally find it very amusing and even beautiful at times.

Not sure what you've misunderstood here.

Arsenal have had 3 big chances they should've taken advantage of, only one of them is from a deep cross and that's Aubas free header. The two other have all been via Bellerin down the right and it's fine margins. A few cm here, Laca a second earlier etc. On the opposite side, Son hits a screamer from a nothing situation where he's the odd 24m out.

I'm not arguing that Tottenhams strategy isn't to let Arsenal get forward into controlled spaces and then hit them on the counter, it obviously is and they've done it ever so well, but Tottenhams defending has been anything but good.Arsenal are creating much more than what Spurs tactics should alllow.

I mean, that was literally what the OP was doing.

This Arsenal team remind me of us under Moyes. They must be on 50 unsuccessful crosses now. It’s not working lads!

Not watching but it's t be expected really I suppose. Lack of chances is something they've struggled with all season, they have a similar xG to Sheffield United.

Game situation is perfect for a Mourinho side.

Don't think Jose cares if they have been bad in the second half. Was brought in to get the best out of this side and they look on course to win things.

The worrying thing for Arsenal was there were games under Wenger they outplayed Mourinho teams and got nothing for it. Their attack is so bad now that Spurs haven't for one moment looked in danger of conceding.

I can't remember who said it but when the name of the winners are written on the trophy, it doesn't say on the trophy that they won it by playing attractive or boring football.

If you re read my original post you’ll find I did just that, it works for Jose and Tottenham fans won’t care provided he’s successful for them. I think maybe you’re defending Jose for criticisms I never actually made.
