How long is he under contract for? If VIlla are not in dire of need of selling due to relegation I would think he is far more valuable to them for an extra season to get back up to the prem.

If there is no relegation clause in his contract what choice does he have. He can hand in a transfer request, that's about it. Promotion to the prem can earn clubs anywhere from 150-200 million pound from different things I have read. If he was that integral in getting them to the prem last season they stand to make a lot more keeping him.

Exactly. They play West Ham next, so they have a good shot @ winning that game- and even if Watford manages to draw vs Arsenal in week 38, Villa can still stay ahead of them in MOST scenarios on goal differential as long as they keep it close tonight.
