Premier League Gameweek 32-33

Why do Arsenal get 7 minutes at half time when any other team gets a couple of minutes at the most for a bad injury?!

Pretty bad stuff from Arsenal. I know Southampton are fighting for their lives but you have to be winning these games if you want the title. City have two other competitions to distract them, you guys just have this one.

I don’t know man, it’s getting that way. You’ve got to explicitly start your posts with “while I’ve enjoyed this season so far, and I do not want Ten Hag to be fired in any way shape or form, last night was a bit shit wasn’t it?”

If you don’t you’re negative, a clown, need to wobble your head or some other bollocks
Because most (or some :wenger:) who were moaning about EtH after the Sevilla game were complaining about our run of games since the cup win....which actually hasn't been that bad.

Sevilla game wasn't on EtH,

So yeah, most were being negative, clowns and needed to wob or their heads. Alot.

Alcaraz is a great talent. Who buy him do the affair.

Arse still gonna win but they look really poor at the back, game could easily be 3-3 right now. They really need saliba back for the Etihad.

Exactly. Why didn’t VAR do the Neville ooh and tell the ref his feet were high in the challenge?! Zinchenko should be off
You are not serious if you think that Zinchenko tackle warrants a red. Casemiro getting fecked by the refs doesn't mean everyone should be sent off for every tackle...

Our lack of squad depth is showing, which we knew it would eventually. No clean sheet since Saliba got injured. Tonight Xhaka is also out, Vieira looks quite lightweight and IMO should probably go on loan somewhere. Earlier in the season we did well to deal with injuries (mainly Jesus's one) but it's a different story in the back end of the season. Our lack of inexperience in these moments is also evident.

Out of control slide tackle with his studs in the air?

How are the front 3 playing for Arsenal? I'd bin the weakest one for Trossard, seriously underrated player is he.

Hope Arse don't bottle it

Keep telling yourself that, maybe you’ve noticed there’s a lot of negativity on here sometimes because we’ve been pretty shit since late February, and actually that’s got nothing to do with me?

Next time I’ll try and be a bit more chipper when we get stuffed 7-0 by our biggest rivals, maybe then I’ll be a top red in your eyes.

I’ll criticise and praise the manager and the team when they deserve it. Thinking people are above criticism because they’re untouchable is how we got ourselves in this mess in the first place.

If you can find anything to be positive about last nights performance do let me know and I’ll be sure to mention it next time I post so I don’t come across as ‘negative’.
Good post.

I am still very pro ETH but we cannot look past the fact that he has had a lot of terrible moments already.

My personal issue is the way we seem to come out from half time still sleeping. Our first 10 minutes are always dreadful.
Ole was totally out his depth but at least he seemed to pump them up for the 2nd half. I think Eric gives them a pillow and a blanket.

Theyll bottle April and finish 5 points off city IMO

Martinelli and Saka are brilliant. Miles ahead of the Sancho / Antony combo. We’ve got a long way to go to compete with the likes of Arsenal.
It's more like Rashford/Antony and they've been playing in this league for a long time. People seriously make comparisons without an ounce of context

I don’t think we’re that far off. Rashford and Antony are pretty effective. If Antony kicks on next season we’ll be pretty deadly with a new CF also.

Even with Saliba back, you would still do unspeakable things to them at home. That’s what, 5 or 6 games since the loss against you that they’ve conceded 2 goals? It goes deeper than just one player.

Is it too expensive to have a studio for Friday night football or something?

He's taken off alcaraz and he's not even injured. Wtf?

Selles makes some really weird calls. Alcaraz been on the bench last few weeks aswell.

Bit early to go 5atb imo.

I think comparisons are inevitable and fair enough when you consider Antony/Sancho cost about £150mil combined...

Southampton have Basically said we're gonna defend now which will invite arsenal who have the threat out wide and through the middle. This feels like self sabotage so early

Guess we will see

That's why I don't see 2nd as a failure at all for Arsenal. Competing against this city squad is extremely difficult, not only should you be good enough you also need injuries to not affect the main guys. I mean Saliba alternative is Holding, while City have 5 starting caliber CBs.

What a strange decision. Take off your best player at halftime…

Arsenal can turn this around lets go fecking gunners cant go down to Saints

I know its sacrilege on the CAF and its probably because he is an ex Rangers player but I quite like Arteta.
Yeah he shows passion and jumps about daft but if he was our manager we would love that about him.

This isn't a cult. ETH can be criticised.

ETH deserved some critism after last night as its his job to ensure the team are ready for every game but he chose and sent out a team that looked completely unmotivated, disinterested, and like they didnt want to be there.

At half time with us 1-0 down I expected him to give them a rollocking and send them back out hungry to turn it around but whatever he said didnt make any difference.

Comparisons are not inetivable because Sancho is not starting left winger, Rashford is.

And where's Pepe in this conversation or do we only talk about the sucesses?

If Antony doesn't improve next season, I'd understand but it's not like he's been awful for us.

Did anyone expect him to instantaneously transform the team and fix everything in his first season? When he arrived, most would have been satisfied if this season had brought a top 4 finish and meaningful signs of improvement on the pitch. The most optimistic fans might additionally have hoped for a cup, but that was the limit of reasonable expectations. Assuming we do in fact finish in the top 4, which is rather close to certain at this point, hasn't he already lived up to any rational expectations? There are still problems, obviously, but they're clearly the ones that he inherited, not problems he has created.

As for being poor in the second half, we've been called 2nd Half F.C. much of this season because we were routinely been better after the break. It's only since February-ish that this has turned around, and it's plainly attributable to the fatigue and injury crisis that the team is saddled with.

Personally, I think we’ve been pretty poor with the occasional decent performance that goes against the trend or against very poor opposition but that’s just me and that does coincide with Rashford being out.

This isn’t really the thread for this but my only gripe is that we were never going to win the EL with this squad but we pushed deep anyway, lost a bunch of players to long term injuries because we played the same first 11 for 20 games over two months, and then eventually went out playing the team we should have played from the start. I think that is poor squad management.

All the while the top 4 is still to play for. We took a massive step last weekend and I think we’ll make it now but it was much tighter previously.
