Premier League Gameweek 30-32

Kalvin Phillips pound for pound worst January signing of all time?

Gordon sticks a foot in the way, making no attempt to play the ball. Never ever a penalty but the refs don’t understand that type of play.

Yeah, very harsh pen. But West Ham should definitely be securing a win here. They've made all their subs, right? Get stuck in and ride it out.

Mental decision. Would have been funny if Gordon had injured himself there by deliberately getting himself kicked.

These types of penalty are just bollocks. You compare that to Burns barging the player over cos he was going to be outpaced.

Refs are opening the door to some weird behaviour if they're going to start awarding penalties for attackers throwing themselves into defenders just as they're clearing the ball.

How fecking thick can refs/VAR be, Gordon clearly trips up Phillips and it gets given the other way. Absolutely mental that got given, officials involved to ref in championship next weekend.

I sort of understand that people think Gordon bought it. But Phillips kicks his leg. Phillips has to not try to pull his boot back. It's sort of like a high boot. It's a foul if someone's head is there.

It is not a pen, an unfair one, but always given.

You just need to put tour foot between the player and ball and wait for the contact.

Think he did same with first one.

Yeah, the first one was a bit more debatable as to whether he was genuinely going for the ball but that one he’s clearly only got one thought in his head - wrap his leg around the defender and try and get it kicked.

Rob Jones looking to take some jobs in Saudi Arabia, per chance?

Not in a sane world it isn't. Dont be absurd.

You cant sneak up behind someone making a clearance and foul them without even trying to touch the ball, and get a penalty out of it. In exact terms it's a tackle from behind with no attempt to play the ball. He deserved to get hurt.
He fecking kicked Gordon.

That's a ridiculous decision and I think the first one was a pen, it's a free kick to West ham if anything. He goes to kick the ball and is no where near it (because he's behind Phillips and too far away from the ball) and they end up kicking each other with the only difference being Phillips is under control of the ball and Gordon isn't even remotely.
