Premier League Gameweek 3

Mendy is reaching Kepa levels of stupid mistakes now. No idea what the feck is going on with him.

Why does literally every other team in the league play with so much more intensity than us? Surely the attitude of our players isn't that bad while everyone else's is amazing.

The mad thing about Chelsea is that anyone with half a brain can see that relying on defenders and penalties for most of your goals is a bad way to set up a football team, so why on earth hasn't Tuchel changed? Still no open-play goals from midfielders or forwards this season, which you can't say about almost any other team.
wonder if they'd like to bid for Martial (they might go for rashford, to be more serious)

PL is bonkers.

Only one win between United, Liverpool & Chelsea so far this season.

:wenger:

There are a couple of teams that have scored zero goals.

Tuchel is not mkaing the most of a very talented squad, look at the bench and the players missing through injury, he has fantastic options in midfield and wide, this shape ain't it.
His insistence on sticking with a back 3 is going to be his downfall. It made sense when their defense leaked like a sieve, but now it is just clear mismanagement. Playing Reece James at center back and RLC at wingback is a sackable offense. There attack has never looked good under him compared to other top sides, and none of their signings really seem suited to a back 3 system - especially the forwards.

Gallagher is the perfect case to show anyone who thinks we should just sign someone who runs hard with passion

Tbh Leeds looked very good against Southampton too in the first half. Chelsea will get their opportunities

have to say Sterling's finish for the disallowed goal was class - thought they'd stroll after that but they look almost as bad in defence as us... almost

We were looking regaining control after early Leeds pressure before that silly Mendy howler.

Gallagher losing his mystique. Would be uncharacteristic of Chelsea to fail to sell a youth player at maximum value but it might happen if they keep playing him. Not good enough — at least at this moment.

I was hoping for our first win of the season against Leeds in game 8 but it seems unlikely. Workrate on another level to our wasters.

First day of the Premier League season so far where the results have gone the way I want them to. Who knows - maybe we'll get something tomorrow?

Said it all along, system player. Double-pivot in 6 is not his game at all. 8 in a 4-3-3 very much is.

It was always going to go like this if they put him there.

He doesn't suit the football that Tuchel plays. He'd be much better for someone like Klopp. That said, his ceiling is of a player like Milner. He had a purple patch goal scoring run last season that made people think he's better than he is.

Is it where he is playing though? Isn’t he more of an attacking midfielder than one that plays deep? Seems to me he should be playing where Mount is

Was the 2nd goal a foul? It definitely wasn't worth a yellow card for Sterling.

Congratulations Manchester City. 5 out of 6 premier league titles is no easy feat. Approaching Bayern levels of dominance in the so called toughest league in the world

He can have a long career by just playing for a mid-table Prem team. Should have just gone back to Palace, he suited Viera’s style well

Yep - his best traits are his off the ball movement to sort of box crash. Asking him to play deep and have the most touches of the ball isn’t working at all

You’ll notice we haven’t signed his replacement yet…

If they sign a CM we’ll be in for him, no question.
