Premier League Gameweek 22-23

Who was the referee for their game against Tottenham where it felt like decisions were actually awarded against them for once?

I can't stand Klopps ranting and screaming at referees but perhaps if ETH got a bit less passive about it, we might get more decisions for us...

Nunez is such a shite finisher, but also creates so many chances for himself that he's always on the verge of a hat-trick. A strange player.

That Chelsea penalty shout is down to VAR as it looked ambiguous in real time tbh

4-1

But this Liverpool attack is such a huge downgrade on Mane/Firminho/Salah. That part of the rebuild they kinda fecked up.

Midfield is whatever, they never had a fantastic midfield. Just workhorses replaced for other workhorses.

We all said Liverpool would reap the benefits from officials after that mistake for the offside vs Spurs, but that was in September. How long are they going to get these favourable decisions for?!

I can see why the referee didn’t give the penalty in real time but the VAR needs to be immediately required to give an interview after this match and explain their reasoning.

All season to give Klopp the fairytale send off.

Till Klippy lifts the trophy at the end of the season.

Don't usually indulge in this type of nonsense, but if that was Utd getting away with those penos, there'd be a half hour inquest post match. Will be swept under the rug for these lot.

Who the feck did Chelsea get the idea to buy Badiashile and Disasi? Whoever scouted these two should be investigated for fraud

They are like two Titus Bramble's in defence.

I’ve seen two penalties decisions that never go against Liverpool, Van Dijk and at Anfield.

Ref rushes to book any Chelsea player and Mac Allister just avoids it. He should be on at least a yellow.

Christ, another season boiled down hoping Peps gets city on a super run to stop the scousers winning the league…uh :(

When the Onana incident v wolves happened at the start of the season, talksport were discussing it for an entire week!!

Dippers getting away with those pens is criminal

It feels that way on paper but kinda strange thing to say when their attackers have scored 11 goals since Salah left for Afcon. Can definitely see how you could feck up a rebuild a hell of a lot more than that - look at our poor excuses of forwards.

Was thinking that too. Made more absurd by the fact keeper's routinely get away with those types of challenges in the box. Media made it seem like a grave injustice had occurred.

They won't better it but they've scored most goals in the league. It's the main reason they are top.

If Nunez improves slightly (he'd still walk into our side) they won't be far away.

seems you're missing the deliberate utter simplicity of what i said - that or you were each adamant we should sign caceido. Caceido was touted by so many as an absolute sure thing with plenty of near meltdowns when we werent in the race with chelsea and liverpool. It happens year in, year out and leads to comments about how terrible we are in recruitment etc. Some people desperately wanted us to get nunez, which is conveniently ignored. So yeah, if you want extra words to say the same thing - there's no such thing as a sure thing and very often players suit a certain system or specific role in a team, then flop badly when asked something different or outside a well drilled comfort zone.
Well said!

Poch is some man for one man for setting his side up to be easy to beat.

Amazed the officials couldn't find a way to give Liverpool the victory against us. Looking like a top result now.

The media just completely avoid any criticism of Chelsea. Irrelevant club.

Chelsea actually matched us for number of passes and pass accuracy.

28 shots and 13 on target for Liverpool. 4 and 3 for Chelsea.

Chelsea are terrible and so is Poch, TBH. Not much to take away from this game IMO

Even we had the easiest game of our season so faragainst them

Well, much like us in 21/22, or right now even, almost no one looks even half-decent at Chelsea right now. Maybe Palmer, but no one else comes to mind for me, other than him. That doesn't mean that their players suddenly forgot everything they've learned and practiced about football before joining them. We are also actually a good example of misusing our players after signing them.

Caicedo would likely be doing way better at Liverpool, City or Arsenal, had he joined one of those clubs instead. I think he would be better at United, as well. The same way that I think Hojlund would be on 15+ goals at least, had he joined Arsenal or City and got the same amount of minutes that he's played for us so far (hypothetical scenario, obviously, since that wouldn't be possible due to Haaland at City).

The most important thing for players is the environment the play in. Are there any players out there, who will do well no matter the tactical setup and teammates around him?

Don't think Liverpool could have picked an easier team to play in the cup final in a few weeks time.
