Premier League Gameweek 21

I’d take pure speed, one touch counter attacking football over slow build up, high possession stuff any day. Nowadays it gets called defensive, and it can be, but when done right…mwah!
There always needs to be a balance. It can’t just be counter attacking all game long. At some point that will get tiring to watch as your team only has the ball possession so little of the match time. Unfortunately Liverpool seem to have perfected the counter attacking/transition style coupled with possession when the counter is not on.

How is that not dissent? Exactly what Dalot did. Yes I'm still bitter.

Bruno Guemer-however you spell it….is brilliant and as unlikely as it is I’d give my right bollock to sign him

Kovacic hasn't really settled into this City midfield I think. Still a bit slow in thinking and can't keep up with their pace of play.

The utter brainwashing that City have done on todays group of commentators alongside their sports washing really is something to behold. I am no fan of Newcastle and their fake rivalry that started with us way back in 2023. However in the run upto Silva's first goal you had five minutes of McCoist and Fletch wanking each other off about City's pass count etc. Or if you watch it City's midfield playing 1-2's with the defenders. Passing for the sake of it and utterly dull as fecking dish water.

Credit to Silva, outstanding goal but feck me when did possession football become the gold standard as to what can be classed as 'good' football, 'better' football or thats how football should be played.

Workrate by Gordon and Almiron keeps surprising me. They are relentless.

Rodri should be off here, completely rubbish that he's not.

See prime example of what I was saying, Almiron didn't play the pass to Gordon there quick enough, if he did, Gordon is away

Amen brother.

The BBC, as usual, is claiming this to be the greatest game since man invented the circle. Is it? I’m half expecting the live commentary to say the atmosphere inside the Ally Pally is something else.

£100m release clause in the summer. Sell Casemiro and bring him in.

City remind me of United back in the day, you’re almost afraid to take the lead against them because you know once they get a bloody nose they’re coming with everything.

And Newcastle are reported to need to sell to meet FFP. It's a no brainer, bring him and Ashworth over

He's not helped by the rest of the team being worse at keeping the ball, but yeah he's been pointless as a midfielder alongside Rodri

People say our 08 team would be smashed by this lot, and perhaps so.

But I reckon Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Nani are absolutely tearing through these on the break like a viking at a nunnery.

Scholes, Carrick round the corner first time passes are murdering Ake/Dias
