Premier League Gameweek 21

The original offside looked well off to me but they seemed to clear it as on?

Looking at the lines on the grass it looked obviously offside to me, unless they're not in line

The lack of lines being shown there is a little suspicious. You couldn’t see the ball being released on the one angle the player looked offside.

Look forward to Howard Webb and the PGMOL explain that one.

It looked clearly offside even after danjuma had been dragged to the floor. I don't understand what happened because it looked like they cleared that part then ended up coming back to it to rule it out.

Thing is, Danjuma was dragged down to stop the offside trap, so that should be disallowed regardless of if he played him on. If Danjuma wasn't wrestled down, it would have been offside, Lenglet was affecting the play there.

Anwyay, Villa look far too open to be a sustainable bet for top 4 in my opinion.

why is that disallowed, seems weird to me, didnt think it was a foul tbh

His foot was offside but as others have said, looked like the only reason that had a chance of being onside was because of a foul on the Everton player.

how is it taking so long and why? The desperate search to disallow goals. There needs to be a time limit it’s boring and shit.
Personally I’d have teams each have one VAR call per half or something. If they use it, anything else after it can’t be reviewed. It’s up to the team to decide if they want to challenge a decision or not.

Villa look seriously good at times, proper nuanced in attacking interaction.

Villa do this kind of shit more or less every game. Good that it was disallowed.

Na, defeats the while purpose of having a VAR. What's the whole point of VAR if we can't use it when there is an error.

Absolutely. Some of the "fix" suggestions are really stupid.

What mental institute did they get these linos from? Pair of complete morons, that's never a foul.

Martinez would have been a much better buy than Onana. But I'm still glad we didn't get Martinez because he has a big gowl head on him

Onana is really, really good. £33m is very modest for someone of his ability in the current market. Hope we can start identifying talent for reasonable fees like that.

i guess we want everton to win, do we? villa would be the most agreeable title-winners but you'd be doubtful they have the staying power and i can still just about delude myself into thinking we might catch them

How the actual feck is that not a pen haha, that is a horrendous challenge.

Dunno, think that’s a bit of a dodgy follow through from Tarkowski

Like the cut of Emre's manic jib on the touchline. Emoji dancing vampire
