Premier League Gameweek 17

Sherwood seems to think it wasn't just a collapse but a collision.

Luton had just made 3 subs and the ball was up the other end of the field. When the camera panned back he was lying face down; Solanke was the only player within 20 yards of him and the Bournemouth players were the first to react in deep concern.

Remember watching that happen in the summer. Questions will be asked after this.

Amazed he was cleared to play so soon after that. There is clearly something inherent so hopefully it isn't serious as it looks (life threatening) and he gets months off to do proper checks as he really shouldn't be playing.

Think he had an irregular heart beat diagnosed after that, certainly seemed back relatively quick.

Most the media reports on it are saying he collapsed.

I’m not watching but saw the BBC commentary. Surely this would be obvious if he seemed alert and conscious. If they ain’t showing pictures, then surely this means Sherwood being a fool - which wouldn’t shock me.

Aye, I was just going off what Sherwood said.

Looking on Reddit soccer they say pretty much what you've just said too.

If Sherwood thinks it was a collision, safer money would be on a collapse.

Just showing different shots of the crowd; most don't look overally worried but there is concern obviously.

Here's hoping he recovers again and the club give him a nice cushy job that doesn't involve chasing a ball around a field.

Massive questions need to be asked if it does turn out to be related to his collapse in the playoffs a few months ago.

Ooff it's going to be a horrible weekend for us, teams around us all seem to be winning.

How are City struggling to put away Palace at home also now? Every game seems an absolute struggle for them. And the inability to keep clean sheets against absolutely anyone must be frustrating Pep

Tbf they've only won 2 of the last 5 at home against Palace. One of their hardest fixtures.

Yeah I know it's a sort of bogey fixture for them but it was more a comment about them in general this season. They seem to concede in virtually every match they play. Won't be surprised if they concede yet another late equaliser here also given their recent matches and form.

They seem to be much easier to play through

They don't control games as they did in previous years, they used to be smothering with their possession, now their games tend to be more end to end, which gives teams chances. Losing Gundogan with Stones and De Bruyne missing most of the season is a big part of that but also Doku and his more individual approach has created more countering chances for the opposition despite how good he has been.

Really emotional scenes with the teams walking around the pitch clapping the fans

Yep, I understand the more open nature of their games but you'd think it wouldn't take Pep half a season to figure it out? Right now every match seems uncertain for them.

Luton manager fighting hard to hold back his emotions with the away fans as they sing Lockyer's name

Of course, it's fecking Liverpool that benefits from this.

Like I said.
