Premier League Gameweek 17-19

Would be a bit mad sacking Lampard now, no? The time should have been before the World Cup.

He needs to go either way, but the bad call was obviously not getting a real manager in while they had a massive break to do so.

I suppose they were probably waiting for Roberto Martinez to need a job again as well. :wenger:

Do you think Lampard is getting anywhere with this side?
Probably not. 7 losses in the last 9 games. We are back where we were under Benitez. I like Lampard and think he’s given a rough ride at times but that’s not good enough at all and we wouldn’t and didn’t accept that with Benitez and shouldn’t now.

Off course Wolves rediscover their form just before our game.
Our timings this season have been shambolic, never seem to get teams before they sack their shit managers or when they're out of form.

Thing with Lampard is i think you got him for the long term. I don’t see him getting sacked at the moment.

You watch each week though and if you can’t see anything in the way of improvement i guess it’s concerning as he’s had long enough now to be working towards some kind of style etc

Everton

Sticking with Lampard and then go and lose to Wolves the opening game back. That's 1 win in their last 8 PL games.

Mental to stick with him.

It doesn’t matter what you get a manager for. If you keep losing, you get sacked.

I think you get a little longer if you’ve been brought in for a long term purpose. That said you’d have to be seeing something amidst the defeats to suggest progress.

That’s why i wondered if Lampard, despite losing, was developing some kind of identity.

When did Oxlade-Chamberlain last start a prem game? There's the random scorer today. :wenger:

I watched the second half. Very poor game. Wolves are not a good team these days and play at snail pace and they were more than happy with 1-1 so couldn't believe their luck at getting that 4 on 1 break away.

Seems you're just in a malaise waiting for the new stadium to be built. Probably better you go down this season, get straight back up like Newcastle used to and then you've got some momentum as premier league club moving to Bramley Dock rather than just slumming it around 17th every season.

You’re assuming we are good enough to come straight back up.

We should absolutely just try and get an experienced manager in.

So Emery had his game of his life against us. As usual. And now back to being shit.

Nunez playing 7D backgammon. He realises that hopping in the air and hoping the defenders and keeper somehow injure each other is much more dangerous for Villa than him actually shooting.
