Premier League Gameweek 15

West Ham will be cooked by March with Europa fixtures piling up.

Great result for our title challenge.

I'm not supporting City and Chelsea 13 games in ffs

You’ve got quite the piranha fetish, don’t you?

It’s Christmas time and I am on a (pathetic, admittedly) mission to make the RedCafe football forum a holier place. Convert and Believe in germanic kindness, you novel gegentards. :wenger:

I’m dumbfounded at the amount of people wanting a Chelsea win here, and citing fourth spot as if it’s our only possible position come the end of the season.

Am I the only one who feels we can go on a hugely strong run over the festive period and beyond, and challenge for the title? Look at our squad.

The more points Chelsea/Pool/City drop, the better.

Perhaps I’m crazy
We are 9 points off Chelsea (if we win tomorrow). It’s possible, but I think most are being realistic. A bit pessimistic, too perhaps, but pretty grounded in doing so.

Moyes actually looks younger than he did for most of his spell with us.

Happy for him.

Yes. Me too. Don't think that he really had a chance at United after the greatest Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Lots of reasons including the players.
But that is history. This is now and I am very happy for him.

They start Europa (straight into the round of 16) in March courtesy of winning the group. No different to playing in the Champions League knockoffs stages.

Could be, but the way he angled his body would be a really strange setup for a shot. I think if you see it from the reverse angle you see it just nick off Loftus Cheek’s studs and it takes a weird spin from there. Hard to tell though and it’s a bit random no matter what!

Could be, I'm watching on my phone so could well look like a hit and hope into the box with nothing on. Random one for sure and poor by a top keeper.

You are not crazy.

West Ham built a really good squad. Signing players has always been a strength of Moyes, which makes some of the shite he signed at Sunderland somewhat baffling.

If they can get another good striker, and another midfielder to rotate with Soucek and Rice, there's no reason for them not to cement themselves as a genuine top 4 contender. Squad is largely pretty young.

I feel the same as well mate :D

Sure. They don't have the squad to go deep in the league and cups. It will catch up with them. Be amazed if they are even in the top 4 mix with 7/8 to play.

Top 6 certainly.

I agree. We have a great fixture list up until the start of freaking March when we play City. Not saying we will win the league but we won’t be 10 points off by then neither imo

Pool and City are barely going to drop pts this season, they are that strong. Probably why a lot see Chelsea the ones worthy to challenge them at this point in time.

Currently anyone thinking we are challenging are just living in hope's dream.

anything could change but this is the scenario at the moment

We could win every game from here and still not win the league. There's no chance.

If all 3 drop points this weekend, that would be awesome, but let's face it, City and Pool are not dropping points today.
I'm still happy for West Ham taking points off Chelsea, it will delay us getting to where they are, but we will get there, I full expect.
If Chelsea won it would be fine as well as it would still put pressure on the others. And the reality is, if I have to chose between the 3 of them for the the title, I chose the 3rd lesser evil in Chelsea, still stinks, but less than the other 2.

As for a title challenge from us, yeah that is crazy honestly, it will take a while to get the consistency we need, don't see the them dropping that amount of points to give us the possibility.

We "could" go on a mad winning every game for 10 games run. But City/Chelsea/Pool will probably win 7 or 8 of their games in the same period too.

It's way too much of a stretch to think our new guy is going to magic out all the issues we've seen in 14 games to do that though.

I wouldn't want to face Wolves away right now. Wolves have only lost 1 of their last 9 league games, Watford are just a very bizarre team. Sometimes they look excellent and up for it and score a load of goals, other games they look absolutely hideous and get pounded. Very inconsistent but fancy City to beat them, Wolves away could be tricky for Liverpool though.

He never had a say in most of the signings.

Would not be surprised if they go on and scrape fourth. They are excellent at picking up points. A proper team, despite their relative lack of resources.

Don't see it, they will be up in the top 4 surely, but don't think they will be in the running for the title come close to May.
Seriously?

I’d like to know why you think so. If it’s because of this match I’d like to remind you that their fellow title rivals - Liverpool - got beaten on this same ground.

They have a well organized defense and score goals too. You don’t expect them to roll teams over week upon week. Liverpool is doing it now but it always never lasts forever. Even City are winning games 1-0, 2-1.

Wolves is NEVER a problem for Liverpool, they get beaten 5-0, 6-0 by them all the time. I’m surprised that fellow fans are happy with the result at West Ham. I mean it does not help us in any way, can’t understand why we are happy with the result.

God I despise solskjaer and our poorly run club, the premier league title race seems wide open this season and we just had stick with a mediocre manager for the start of the season let alone for way too long to the point that we have no chance of having a late run for it in the second half of the season.

This is looking the most exciting title race since Leicester won it

No it's ridiculous (as is your title challenge comment) and we don't need to worry about the top teams beating feckin West Ham in order to over haul them.

They have shown the have leaks. Drawing even against us at our worst really. Key injuries also going against them, and if the don't stop the rot soon, they may just be too far to get back at it. Festive period will be very telling, they already have a number of injuries and this coming period can worsen that, and then its curtains really.
Anyway, I hope I am wrong, cause I'd rather them win the league over Pool and City, but I can't see it happening personally.

Chelsea definitely suit playing a more fluid front three rather than having Lukaku up there it seems. It's the reason we sold him, as good a goalscorer as he is.

Moyes is doing brilliantly at West Ham though I still can't see them finishing top four.

It does make you wonder what could've been if we pulled the trigger after the Liverpool debacle.

Let's see if that Ait-Nouri kid can handle Salah. He certainly has the talent.

I suppose, but its just a feeling, don't see either of them dropping points today.

There's an inevitability about the way Liverpool play.
