Premier League Gameweek 13

Nice to see Ben White had time to get his eyebrows done during the international break.

Both quality. Rice was the signing we needed despite clueless takes from those that don't rate him.
Absolutly not. Overrated player. I'm happy we didn't throw money on those kind of players. Like we often do. He is nothing special. Neither is Saliba.

There is a kid there who looks to have taken his Ramsdale shirt off and put back at the end.

That's the body language of a man who clearly wants out in Ramsdale.

Bollocks. It's sign of a good team. Especially coupled with going to City and coming away with a point. They aren't falling away any time soon.

Funny that because no one ever says its a sign of a good team when we get points in games we should have lost, we are usually told we are just papering over the cracks or we stole points we didnt deserve.

That's because you have to have good performances around the games where you don't play well but win, if your only wins are games where you don't look convincing then it indicates that that is the best you can do. I'm not sure Arsenal have played well that often either, albeit they have last year as more evidence of their quality, and unless that changes then they will fall away eventually.

I’m sure he does. Arsenal just activated Raya’s buy clause and Arteta said hes the clear #1.

The best thing he can do is work hard, have a good attitude, play well in the cup and lobby for a sale

aArsenal are a bit lucky, I think. They probably are the best team in England, and the world, defensively but I sincerely doubt they have enough attacking firepower to win a league.

Will be a force if they get Toney in January.

Brace yourselves.

Arsenal fans coming

Eh it wasn't exactly a sparkling, wave-of-optimism-inspiring performance admittedly. We need to be able to change gears more quickly and seamlessly like Liverpool (and obviously City) can do if we want to compete with them all the way. We are too unable and/or unwilling to try some Plan B moves when our passing it around short building up from the back is being frustrated. That's essentially what's missing from this team besides a more prolific striker.

You can probably make an argument for Rice but Saliba is top quality. He's probably one of the best in the league at 1v1 and reading the game.

That's because we never actually compete with other teams around us, especially away from home. Liverpool win these games regularly.

He can actually defend. You know that bloke who spent the entire game tearing Trent apart? Well Reece James shut him down last week. Guy gets a questionable second yellow so apparently he's not that good anymore.

Shut what down you conceded 4 goals and were playing at home drawing to the same team we’ve just drawn away and conceded less to.Trent played in both internationals by the way and where was your Jame? sat on his arse again probably. I think he’s done well enough considering Klopp was always going to switch him to back to RB and he is up against the most progressive and successful dribbler in the league in Doku.

Saliba is absolutely top drawer.
I had concerns regarding Rice but even he is top drawer. Does not mean he is a complete DM like Rodri but he has those intangibles which is very unique. His defensive reading of the game is mind blowing. So you get those but maybe not the best on the ball things although his driving runs are also great.

That’s because you get battered away constantly against your biggest rivals.

3rd best team in the country dig out a win. Spent 300 million to largely stay the same.

Not sure why they have to celebrate every win like they've just taken a massive step towards the title

I would say that they are not even best players in their positions at their own club. Saliba is not a better defender than Gabriel. More elegant but not better.

Truly spoken like someone who doesn't watch many Arsenal matches.

Saliba is a Rolls Royce of a defender... Very, Very, Good.
Rice is quality, does it all without a lot of fuss.
They are two that you should have thrown money at.

We're not playing poorly, but going forward we haven't gotten into a groove yet. However, we are very solid defensively and outside of Ramsdale's shakiness today, we limited Brentford quite well. It was a pretty subdued game with little chances for either side. Still, we have enough quality in our side that we usually find a goal. The loss to Newcastle was the only game (in all comps) we failed to score in.

Apparently the biggest game of the season is only good enough for second last on Match of the day.

It's not. Massively overplayed "crisis".

We had a good first eleven out there today (including a 17 year old kid) and some of them got some much needed rest during the international break. It becomes a problem when that same eleven have to play twice every week. Just look at our bench today, it's hilarious.

Dubravka - Goalkeeper
Karius - Goalkeeper
Gillespie - Goalkeeper
Dummett - Pensioner/mascot, can't believe he gets PL minutes in 2023
Ritchie - Pensioner/mascot, can't believe he gets PL minutes in 2023
Parkinson - Kid who came on at Bournemouth to make his PL debut
A. Murphy - Kid who made his PL debut today, played a bit in the pre-season
Ndiweni - Never heard of him before, PL debut today
Diallo - Never heard of him before, PL debut today

Looking at it again the defending at Haaland’s goal was so bad. The defenders actually part and allow him more space than he’d have had if they just hadn’t moved

Does Nunez watch alot of Monday Night Raw WWE?!

Good that’s arsenal won. Can’t take 115 winning 4 in a row

A spurs-Villa draw would be decent for us. We’ve got very tricky games coming up including away to Newcastle. Although I wouldn’t be bothered if spurs won as I just need them on an acca for 150.
