Premier League - Gameweek 12

We were 10 men for most of the game. Missing our main player. When we were 11 men we were the better team (and winning). I'd like to see Spurs 10 men at 2-1. They'd be smashed playing this open

Half of the game. You played no football which was reflected by some players having no successful passes
That sounds a lot of excuses..

You need to win the league this year or Arteta is finished.

Arsenal fans being delusional, well I never

Reminds me of United in the Autumn of 1996, 1999, 2001 and 2002. City still got a chance. Being completely written off as will happen after this is exactly what spurs serial title winners to go again.
They will be 8 at best behind Liverpool when they fail to beat them at Anfield shortly. Maybe up to 11 behind.

That passive aggressive smile is something else.

The Pep Guardiola contract extension hasn't provided a bounce. Will be 5 consecutive losses for Man City

Be interesting to see will the media treat this home loss to Tottenham like they did for United when playing half the game with 10 men was mainly ignored and United aren't a title challenger like City are meant to be so should be getting a lot more criticism...

More like a death rattle

This is the first time Pep is being tested. Wonder how he’ll react.

Also. One player being injured, and I’ve seen ex players, pundits, journalists etc justify City losing 4, maybe 5, games in a row. Imagine if Pep had a similar injury situation to United last year.

Can't remember a game where City have smashed so many shots over the bar. That's at least 7 or 8 now.

The media won’t talk about it much because no one cares. It’s not in their interest to talk about it a lot. City still don’t sell.

They’ve turned around 8 point leads in April. Liverpool could easily be capable of a total collapse. They’ve done it plenty of times in recent years. I’m just saying it reminds me of United. I had similar debates in those years I mentioned where we were a similar distance behind…even in 08/09 we were about 8 points behind Liverpool in December and won 9 games in a row while they started dropping points for fun. Don’t underestimate these serial title winners.

I have to be honest in 18/19 and 21/22 I was desperate for City to win the league over Pool but now it wouldn’t bother me. This period of City dominance has been so soulless and embarrassing. They are such a shit club.

They've had a fair few injuries here and there, but more the stuff you'd think are sustainable, like Stones and Diaz never being available together.

But Rodri out is huge.

It’s pretty impressive that we somehow managed to score 2 goals at the Etihad playing no football. I mean, you think we must have played some football to have been winning until Stones last-minute equaliser, but apparently not.

City don't get questioned much because they have won the league 4 times in a row...

Absolutely shat the bed. Could have won that with 10

City tbf are at their dangerous when ruled out.

Still think Liverpool will have their bad patch soon. It's nothing like Mourinho's first season at Chelsea when a new manager took over.

Still just one player out for a long time. Nothing like what United had last season.

It really highlights that their much vaunted recruitment has actually been very poor recently. Kovacic, Nunes and an aging Gundogan are pretty terrible signings as midfielders for the richest club in the world.

Obviously they wouldn't be able to sign an equal replacement for Rodri, but they should still have someone a lot better than they do now.

City knew how reliant they are on Rodri when he got suspended last year and they still chose to not get a similar profile backup. On top of that their recruitment in recent years has been awful. It's been coming.

He wouldn't be finished surely? He can still play the "young team" card for another season or two I'd guess.

Once Arteta has signed another couple of £115m players and we're all wondering why Saka is title-less and in decline by his mid-twenties, that's when I'd say he's finished.

We'd have been worse if it'd have been Bruno out.
But we still shouldn't be finishing 8th however many we had out.

Course he isn't. They were 7th/ 8th a few years ago, so patrolling around top 3 every year isn't a disaster.
It's just classic sod's law for them that they've had their own problems the season City clearly aren't at it.

Ignoring the league table, it's always great to see City losing. Especially in such heavy fashion (so far).

Taking the league table into the equation, this isn't a great result for us - bad for our CL battle that Spurs are getting a great 3 points, and bad for the title challenge that it's a great result for Liverpool.

It also reconfirms what a tough draw we've got in the League Cup QF. Spurs now done the double over City in the last month, as well as also winning 3-0 away at us earlier in the season.

Still, glass half full - looking like another poor loss for City.

Neville suggesting that this game isn't over?

Almost any other 3-0 I'd agree, but Tottenham are so flimsy that I reckon a quick goal could make it very interesting.
Get 1 and they could get 3.

But will they get 1, they seem destined to have 30 chances and not score today.

If the team falls apart due to the absence of one player, that tells a story.
I know de bruyne has been out as well but you have to expect that at his age and with his recent injury record.
Looking like pep isn’t the messiah after all.
He’ll crush the conference though.

In fairness they were only able to sign players from themselves this summer. Had they moved early, I guess they could have signed Garcia off Girona before he went to Leverkusen and UEFA tightened the rules.
