Martin Tyler retiring is the best thing to happen to football since the premier league inception, regardless of who you support, this game proves it.

Literally the very first time this defense has played together. In a totally different setup that we played in preseason. Against one of the best attacking fronts in Europe.

Shaky as feck to start understandably, but grew into it.

Ye it’s like they’re building a completely different team but they’ve got to count them selves out of title races then and just concentrate on getting better each season. Thing with having a young team is you don’t benefit until like the 2nd/3rd season playing together.

Liverpool have zero strategy.
They don't press or stay back. The disorganization is brought about by having less quality players trying to play in a certain way. What is Jota and Gakpo? Nothing to write home. This guy from Brighton who they signed will not take them over the line, even Caicedo if he goes there won't change the course of the ship that much.

Trent by game 20 people will be calling for his head. VVD by game 20 will be letting players shoot as he ball watches.
We will finish above Liverpool very easily bar a catastrophic injury to a Key player for us, like Onana.

The back line has no protection from midfield. None of the three we have playing have a defensive bone in their body and it’s shown in that half. Chelsea looked dangerous any time they attacked.

We’ve been good on the ball and awful off of it.

Neither, I don't think he's as creative in the final third and stylistically they are quite different but I'd say he's more similar to Fabregas in the creative sense. Not really sure who else to compare him with, to be honest. Maybe Modric?
 
Caicedo and Nkunku instead of Chukwumeka and Gallgher and we win this game.

I’m gutted Nkunku is out for months.
 
Chelsea bought so many players and spend so much money in the last year but I still don’t think their starting eleven is very strong. Very strange.

Chukwumeka has to come off at half time. Really poor showing and on a booking with Taylor as the ref.

Who in the squad is supposed to fill the Fabinho role? Agreed that no one in there today look like defensively minded players
 
I think Liverpool would be losing this if Nkunku was playing. He really is a massive loss for Chelsea. Not convinced by Liverpool despite their excellent options in attack. Think they'll concede too many goals and drop points as a result
 
This weekend has been a sobering reminder of just how much I've enjoyed not seeing or hearing Micah Richards these last few weeks
 
Gallagher has been so, so poor. And i read a post or two on here that said we should have got him over Mount!
 
Gallgher needs to come off as soon as possible. As does Chukwumeka.
 
Can see why Chelsea are desperate for Lavia and Caicedo. Gallagher is awful. They should have got their midfield solid rather than spend millions on a defence.
