Exactly! Jeff was a machine. I don't think anyone can replace him and Thomas is of course doing his best but the first two weekends are not good from him. So many mistakes. And I can understand it, it's far too much to take care of with games all down to the National League as well as Scotland.

I’ve said in other threads, the “breakout” star for us this season will be Adingra. I watched a lot of him last season on loan and he’s the business. Goal off the bench on his debut is a good start, but he’s looked sharp all pre-season. It’s really a testament to how underrated Solly March is that he started from the bench today.
Anyone else think Villa will beat Newcastle? They have a terrible record up there but they ended last season on fire.

March & Gross together just work so so well and offer balance between attack and solid defensive line. All the young attackers have to learn from March to get his starting 11 spot.
De Zerbi turning Solly March from a 1 goal in 20-odd games player to a 1 in 4 goalscorer at the age of 28 might be the most impressive thing he's done there.
He's not joking. Bloom might be a stretch, considering he's...the owner... but considering the attitude to investment for the long term Chelsea have shown (for all the short-term comedy it's provided), I wouldn't put it past them to offer to double Barber's salary, even bearing in mind he's supposed to be the best paid in his position.How much?
