Predict our starting XI vs Fulham

These potential incoming and outgoing transfers could still be in the negotiation phase by the time this fixture comes around. I’m gonna provide two lineups - one with the current squad if no additions or sales have been made & the other (which is what I’m hoping for) if we have concluded our transfer business by then.

Unlikely to see Dalot Bruno Shaw Mainoo Martinez Garnacho due to holidays. It'll be Onana Maguire Evans Amass AWB Casemiro Mctominay Mount Rashford Amad Sancho.

You’d think two weeks of training, some minutes against City and a match behind closed doors would be enough for most of them.

This is what I’m going with. If we sign another centre half then he’ll play instead of Maguire.

When did players missing the start of a season for holidays become a thing, I know they had the Euros but come on, we’ll be out the title race by the end of August! Suck it up and get going.

If we signed a player TODAY, I'd still have my doubts that he'd be integrated into the team fast enough to start a match 15 days from now, let alone if/when we wind up signing a player 5 or 6 days from now, at best.

I honestly think at this point that we start the EPL season without a single new player in the first eleven, which renders this summer window an abject failure right off the bat.

Wishful thinking with Zirkzee but i'd rather him even with no minutes played than a False 9.

Having watched the charity shield and seen how poor McTom and Rashford were, but also knowing how poor Ten Hag is, I'm going to say:

Onana
Dalot Maguire Martinez Evans
Casemiro Mainoo McTom
Amad Bruno Rashford

Zero strikers since we went to all the trouble to sign a second one in the summer. We go a goal down in the first half and don't score back. In the second half Garnacho and Mount are thrown on with Amad and McTom making way with Zirkzee coming on with 10 minutes left to go close, but the match ends 1-0 to Fulham.
 
I'd be very tempted to just throw Mazraoui in at left back if the deal is done in time. He's played for Ten Hag before and has gotten plenty of minutes for Bayern in preseason.

It's risky, but less so than out of position Martinez, who just can't really use any of his strengths in that position. We're so much better off with him at CB.
 
Wouldn't mind going with the same XI as today.

I'm not aware of de Ligt and Mazraoui's fitness situation though so if either of them is ready I don't mind them coming into the lineup.

De Ligt for Maguire (don't pair them, please, it won't end well IMO), and Mazraoui for Evans with Martínez going back to LCB...

...but I can see a world where ten Hag sticks with Martínez at LB so that we can switch to a back 3 in possession with the right back inverting into midfield next to Casemiro, be it Dalot or Mazraoui. Both are very capable of doing it. But I don't trust any of Maguire, De Ligt, or Evans to be anything other than the central CB in an in-possession back 3, to be honest.
