Pre-match press conference - Fenerbahçe

Guess the only interesting thing is whether there'll be questions (and answers) regarding Basti.

Omg why don't they ask what I want to know. Stupid journos.

Mickey and Martial have travelled

United squad: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone; Blind, Jones, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Shaw; Fellaini, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young; Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford, Rooney.

No Memphis or Carrick in the squad.

What do we think the starting line-up will be for the game considering the announced squad?

Personally, I would like to see the following:

DDG
Darmian, Jones, Blind, Shaw
TFM,
Herrera, Pogba,
Mkhi, Rashford, Martial

I hope the press are told beforehand that Jose wont answer questions about the two FA charges, his answers on Schweini will be interesting.

Is Smalling injured?

Is Smalling injured?
I think so. He went off against Fenerbache in the home game, and I assume was rushed back against Chelsea, where he probably exacerbated the injury. Or at least set the date of full recovery a little later. Hopefully it's not that though, and he's just resting him for another game to play at Swansea.

Ah ok thanks, i had assumed he was being punished for his display against Chelsea.

Any way to see the press conference live?

As expected, Mourinho "no comment"s regarding the Clattenburg incident. Refuses to answer any questions regarding refs/ match officials.

Regarding Phil Jones: "Doesn't remember" when Phil Jones last had a run of good matches. Last time he remembers him playing was against Madrid when he managed them. Has been training with the team for more than a week now. A forced move to select him as there are 3 defenders injured.

Europa league is a target for United as it is a direct route into the Champions League, which is where he wants to be.

To be fair Jones needs a kick up the arse.

Ask about Bastian and Carrick's injury you idiots.

Jose "not happy" with United results, but happy with the performances. Feels the good results will arrive "sooner or later". The team reacted "in an unbelievable way" after the defeat to Chelsea. The number of shots against Burnley were "incredible", and he's happy with the players.

Is he injured? Or is it because he stayed back? I was sure Carrick won't play in this as Herrera is suspended for Swansea game so Carrick will start that match.

Yeah that's what I thought before the game, so no surprise he's stayed back.

Twitter rumours in the Carrick thread suggesting he might be injured.

Re: Valencia + Schweinsteiger: Valencia has a bad injury and has had "important" surgery and will be out "for a while". Darmian has had minutes to develop, and has played really well recently against Burnley. Is ready to play tomorrow. Feels he is doing "good work". Schweinsteiger is back, the decision was made last Thursday and he was informed last Friday. Decision was based on wanting to have everyone training together - he prefers training with 21 players max. With BFS he had 23-24 players and it wasn't practical. Bastian has been "professional" and the "human decision" has been made to bring him back. Hopes he will be much better prepared if he wishes to leave the club in the future. If he stays, he becomes one more option if we get injuries in midfield.
