I have no more nails. My nerves are shot.

Longest fecking 25 minutes of my life.

Three points is all that matters at this stage. Don't care how we do it at the moment.

It was going the same way as Leicester meltdown in spite in the Rooney red card. We still go to shite mentally when we concede.

I said it in the match day thread but it's unbelievable how we can look like winning by about 4 or 5 to ending up like that  3 points at least though. Above Liverpool on goal difference?

Good to hold on. Makes our disappointing start look a little bit better now. Hopefully we can start to put together the run of wins we were hoping for after we beat QPR.

Good job from the 10 that had to work their asses off. I, for one, hope that all this 'special privileges' bullshit will drop from our captain now or the arm band will go to somebody else.

Think I need to get my heart looked at first thing on Monday

A bit lucky, but I'll take that given last week.

Need Jones back. And need him to stay fit. The back 4 did well enough (DDG not so much for the goal) but I'd worry about them against Everton.

and well done McNair.

My heart was going like the clappers at the end there. So important we won. Character and morale will grow a lot from that.

I think I've lost about 5 years of my life after watching that 2nd half.

Well done by the boys for hanging on.

Rooney is an idiot.

Rooney - idiot
Team work - brilliant
Defending - Rojo was a bit meh but i thought the kid next to him did well (if only for that clearance!)
Ref - idiot, Rooney deserved a red but how was that not a handball in the build up?!

Overall - i thought we were great in the first half, started the second badly but overall think things are definitely improving.

Great character from the lads.
That's the way I'm looking at it too

Just posted loads in the match day thread saying the same

. There was probably a lot of nerves especially with the new boys and youngsters after the season we have had. When we went down to 10 they defended superbly

The back four and Blind are all my MOTM today

It was going the same way as Leicester meltdown in spite in the Rooney red card. We still go to shite mentally when we concede.
I would say the players are in the same mindset as us, I have nerves whenever the ball is in our half.

I think this result may be what we needed to kick on. Not cos of the win only but the fact we had to defend an onslaught (against West Ham admittedly). We have lacked the mentality recently to hold on when everything is going against us. Yes we got lucky a fair few times but was just what we needed.

I hope so anyway

We played some amazing football in the first half, as we do most matches, as soon as the other team scores the inevitable goal, we fecking collapse, and turn to shit. No backbone in this time me thinks

Boys showed a lot of character and heart today. Rafael (mainly offensively), McNair and Rojo were all excellent given the circumstances.

I was shitting my pants...

Full credit to our defence today though, deserve praise.

Rafael was my man of the match. McNair, Rojo, Shaw and Herrera all good too. Thought Valencia did well when he came on too.

Rooney let us down with the sending off, di Maria was poor up 'til the last ten minutes in which he kept the ball up the other side of the pitch.

Relieved, a great win all things considering.

LVG tactics and substitutions have been poor so far, he really needs to get off his fat arse at times.

3 points all the same. Worrying performance but Rooney's stupidity didn't help.

Great to see us show real resilience after Rooney's red card, especially given what happened last weekend. The offside flag maybe saved us but, after the way the calls have gone against us this season, you won't feel me feeling sorry about it.

Herrera was man of the match for me, hope to God he's back next week.

Rooney scored a great goal, which we wouldn't have won without, but he really needs to look at himself. We were cruising to victory before he had a total brain fart. Saw a counter attack and panicked before it even developed.

Some great performances and much improved character. Shaw looked very good on debut and McNair was brilliant. Herrera had a great game, hope the injury isn't a bad one. Rafael showed class front and back. Falcao improving with every match. Rooney, great finish and then absolute idiot. Could of cost us. But the others stepped up today. 3points!

Good job from the 10 that had to work their asses off. I, for one, hope that all this 'special privileges' bullshit will drop from our captain now or the arm band will go to somebody else.
But Rooney was our best player in the first half and worked his bollox off. It was just a retarded moment
