I know we can't always put In good performances and I'm cool with that, but my anxiety was off the charts today

Excellent from DDG and Dalot. Very good as always from Martinez, Rashford had a good game for the most part and brilliant header. Still needs to improve obviously.

Thankful for the 3 points. A game in hand and hopefully we win that and get to the top four.

That's Ten Hag giving into the CR7 pressure and our performance suffered because of it. He should not be starting games for us.
Harry saved our arse today but they played right into his wheelhouse (backs against the wall defending).
Win's a win though....I guess.

I’d be very interested in who you would have played Instead?
No Martial, no Anthony and Sancho has been poor, so who?

Reminiscent of the 1-0s Fergie used to grind out in his later years. Happy for Rashford but him giving the ball away so easily twice in the dying moments of the game was infuriating.

Unbelievable defending that. Defense won us that game. Need victories like these too.

Pretty decent general play, again we should have been leading 3:0 or something before final 20 mins of the game, instead they were still in it. Happy with that, once we sort our finishing/striker, we are good to go.

Good three points. Still a lot of work to be done. We went downhill badly when Eriksen went off. Hoofing it (a la Fred and Bruno) when under pressure will cost us big time. Thought Dalot, Martinez, Shaw and de Gea had really good games.

Great win. Brilliant defensive display at the end. Really frustrating how we couldn't keep hold of the ball at the end... I was shouting at the TV, just keep hold of it! Not smart to keep going for goal.

The passing was shocking as well... need to work on that.

We brought on McTominay to help with the midfield and somehow it was bypassed even easier. Then Fred came on to make the "red wall" as the commentators called it, we were bypassed even easier again. What the hell?

Dalot MOTM for me. He was a monster.

Maybe its just me but I enjoyed that. Under any of the previous managers except Jose, this is the kind of game we concede late and possibly lose.

I'd hate to watch this every week but it was good to know we have that in us. We didn't even concede chances until the end as we prevented many opportunities and when we did DDG was there to save us.

West Ham's shape off the ball was exceptional and they made it very difficult to pass through them. EtH will be fuming at the ball retention but the attitude and character was top class.

Superb 3 points. We were knackered 2nd half but dug in against a lively west ham.
we played pretty decent for much of the first half but the passing went to rat shit second half. Giving the ball away persistently and no control.
Martinez, shaw and Dalot were superb, Maguire did ok but my god he slows the play out from the back so much. Degea was amazing, wheres the haters.
Martinez is the difference in our defence motm for me but several contenders.

Maguire, Martinez, Dalot, Shaw and DDG were all superb. Particularly Maguire coming back into the squad with such excellent performance. Hope he will be better and better under ETH.

Second half was horrifically bad, as poor as passing half I've seen for a while. ETH has some questions to ask of the midfield lineup. I'm not sure Eriksen/Fernandes works and if we are leaning towards Eriksen then Bruno has to sit out.

Forward line also cant keep ball, it keeps coming back and games like these we struggle to see out. Only positive is the win and 3 points.

First half was very good. Second not so much. But does it matter in if we get a win in the end? A win and 3 points against a solid team. Not much more to ask for.

Rashford was very good, Dalot, Shaw and Dave have been superb. Maguire really has to work on his passing and he is so incredibly slow. But he was decent enough especially in the end. 3 points against Villa and we are third, great turn around after the first 2 matches.

Didn’t enjoy that but how good were the back 5?!

These are the kinds of games we’d lose previously. The forwards didn’t gel and the midfield wasn’t as impressive as it has been. You don’t get away with that normally but at the back we were superb.

Gave the ball away too easily all game, we got away with it when we were still doing other things well and West Ham weren't doing much with it earlier in the match. Once they started applying pressure and we looked tired in the second half those turnovers nearly cost us the game so from a game management point of view it was disappointing to see we didn't make any adjustments and try to kill the game by holding on to the ball to alleviate the pressure and stop some of that momentum they built.

De Gea, Casemiro, Dalot, Shaw and especially Martinez all excellent. Maguire defended well too but is still very slow when playing from the back.

Unreal saves from David at the end, saved our asses.

Hate seeing these fridge type players like Rice and Antonio running with the ball and pushing around people. Delighted that they failed.

Bruno very disappointing, and made some very questionable passes in the end there. But playing on the wing is not his position.

Unnecassary drama at the end i feel like. It's okay to play simple passes with 1 min to go ffs

3 points though. DdG godlike.

Yeah that second half should never have happened. For 45 minutes we were pretty much played off the park. At home. By West Ham.

Not sure what was it. Fatigue? Lack of focus? But we barely looked like a football team for most of it.

Three points though... but this should never have been this hard.

It's Ronaldo, simple as.

We are a much better team without him.

We brought on McTominay to help with the midfield and somehow it was bypassed even easier. Then Fred came on to make the "red wall" as the commentators called it, we were bypassed even easier again. What the hell?

Dalot MOTM for me. He was a monster.
Their positioning off the ball is shocking. They actually hindered Casemiro by getting in the way instead of helping him. And we lost any sort of chance to keep the ball.

Reminiscent of the 1-0s Fergie used to grind out in his later years. Happy for Rashford but him giving the ball away so easily twice in the dying moments of the game was infuriating.
Sometimes think EtH will have to scream at players from 80th minute to keep them concentrated to the last second.

Glad we won the match.

But, just about hanging on against a bottom-of-the-table team at Old Trafford makes me unhappy. We should be calmly controlling the end of games not giving away possession after possession.

Casemiro's passing went missing in that 2nd half and pushing Bruno out to the right really stops any attacking threat that we had in that 1st half.

Good to see us win while not playing well. Good test for Ten Hag to figure out why we allowed so much pressure on us. He's still learning this league and I'm sure he'll get it right next time. Still, 3 points and another clean sheet.

Big win, bad second half. Massive credit to the defense. If all five men in defense didn't put everything on the line we'd have drawn. Incredible display.

Our lack of players who can hold the ball is killing us. West Ham kept passing it to Antonio and it changed the game. On our side Ronaldo couldn't run into midfield to give us the passing option and the times he did get the ball, all he wanted was to shoot, angles be damned. Then Bruno, Rashford, Fred-all of them wasted massive opportunities to kill the game off.

We need these kinds of wins throughout the season, so I'm happy with that. But it could've been a different story by fine margins.

Considering we played with one attacker, and a captain at sea, great result.

Dalot has arrived. He is world class, can do it all.

DDG's value behind our defense showed today too. His consistency has been impressive and that shot stopping ability sure is nice when things break down.

Hammers showed up and played exceptionally well but our boys handled it and got it done. This was a huge win for us.

Very difficult by the end but a great win. Some superb performances out there, Dalot and Martinez in particular with big Dave providential at the end. Also Shaw and Casemiro very good.

We need to buy some more players though as the drop in quality after just 2 or 3 changes is huge. A new CD is a must as is a striker. Ronaldo was rubbish.

Martinez, Dalot and De Dea take a bow.

Great header from Rashford too.

Everyone else - Meh.

Ronaldo has no business of starting anymore. Even when he puts an effort he slow our game down and in defense he's to slow to keep up with the press so it's get broken.

Good win that. Should have been a draw given how we couldn't find a teammate in the second half.

I guess it's accumulation of games in the legs. That Sociedad loss in the Europa really cost us the chance to rotate against the lesser sides. With the CL drop outs including Barca, Juve and Athletico - we really need to finish top of that group.

The Europa this season could have some cracking games.

Back to this game, well done to De Gea and Dalot. Not sure which one should be MOTM.

Maguire just creates so much tentativeness in possession. Lost the ball so many times. Redeemed himself with the back to the wall defence in the last 15 mins.

Zouma dribbling through the center of the pitch shows why we can't have Ronaldo start for us regularly.

There are people who think we should replace DDG - I am not one of them

With a few different subs ( anyone for Ronaldo, no Bruno on the wing ) we'd have had enough pace to punish them on the counterattack. Anthony and Antony are injured and Anthony was subbed off.
