Not out of the woods yet but the victory made even sweeter by the Spurs, Gooners and City defeats. Happy for Leicester too....the title is theirs with the Gooners/Spurs to hamstring each other yet further in their next game.

The meltdowns on Arsenal Mania and Bluemoon are also a joy to behold.

We were still quite poor though that has to be said!

We ejaculated over Arsenal so Watford is the game before we get it up again, penetrate the feck out of West Brom and we'll be ready to ejaculate all over Anfield.

The defence was the worst thing, and given the makeup of it it's understandable. We were due a game where we looked shit at the back, just fortunate it didn't cost us

So nice to win in the end, I had seen it coming though, a poor game where we would struggle against a very physical side playing long balls up to their two big men upfront, but thank god for Mata and that free kick. A great night in end, but Pulis is waiting just around the corner....

We finished that game with Darmian (26) as our oldest players. Yuef!

A tense game but delighted with the win. Definitely a reality check for some of the younger players, particular Mensah although we can't exactly be too harsh considering he's playing alongside another midfielder who had a stinker.

Varela looks great still and I guess Rojo is still finding match sharpness...?

A tougher game for Rashford but he showed a different side today, strength and pace and beat his man on several occasions. The ref was particularly harsh on him on several times when his opposition defender stepped across and fell over.

We seemed to increase the urgency around 60 minutes, maybe as news reached the players that this was a real opportunity to close the gap on the leaders. Mata and Memphis seemed to really step up - can't recall the last time I saw Mata so mobile!

Job done, even if it was lucky. Hopefully we get some more defensive players back soon, Smalling alone will solidify things at the back.

Came off watching the game today thinking we did very well to grind out a 1-0 win barring a couple of howlers from Blind. Until I came on this thread.

Moaners out in full overdrive. Self-righteous dicks complaining we don't deserved the win, we got lucky, we were shit, etc. And Did I see someone saying he felt sorry for Watford? Really? Go fecking support them then! In reality, who the feck cares if it wasn't as a deserved win? Points are all that matters at this stage. And it wasn't even that undeserved in the first place, just moaners exaggerating because we didn't have 80% possession and crushed the opponents 5-0.

Seriously think some posters didnt even watched the game. Probably followed some live match updates and visualizing how shit we were, watching some uber laggy streams that can't even make out who are the players, or anti van gaal posters who can't accept he did well in the past few matches and had to carry on the smear campaign.

We won. Joint 4th. Citeh in freefall. Arse going into their annual boom cycle. Spurs being Spurs. Enjoy the win. Look forward and stop wallowing in misery like pigs in muddy stys.

Oh fecking yeah, very happy even we perforned quite horribly. Important 3 points and other results served us well too.

Martial was wasted on the right but I think it was because he was heavily marked. As soon as we made the switch the right flank was more open.

Well done LvG, well done United.

You make it sound like we played unusually poorly. This was about our average level of performance for the season, if not slightly above average.

Can't help but feeling optimistic after 4 wins in a week or so. Choosing to believe our best is what we seen vs Arsenal. Watford can be a tough nut to crack and I think we got lucky at times but from 60 minutes on, we were the better side.

Unlike the self-righteous dicks complaining other fans are lesser fans.

Blind:rolleyes:
Any team with an in-form striker, Blind would himself have had led to atleast 4 goals, and that is being kind on him.
We were poor in 1st half, 2nd half, we started picking up when Mata started playing well around 60min mark.

We looked tired, everything was sloppy. Somewhat expected given or injuries and high # of matches in a short time. Still, felt like we could steal the points as long as Watford didn't take advantage, which was different from the utter misery brought on by so many of our performances in these type of matches this season.

That was a tired performance, bit worried about Sunday because of that, a part from that couldn't be happier as none of the top 4 won

Hoping we can add some freshness to the side for Sunday, we really need Smalling back and I wouldn't mind seeing the robot back at RB - need some physicality back there.

The way we were bad tonight as very different from usual. The problem tonight was fragility and uncertainty at the back as opposed to the usual tumescent, dull clueless displays we have seen up until a couple weeks back. The most pleasing thing tonight is that the positives from the past few games which have been actually looking dangerous when going forward through our wingers and Mata were present again. Whenever we attacked which was mainly in the second half, we did in fact look dangerous which has been the main development recently.

So yes, we did not actually play well but it was for entirely different reasons and dare I say, much less worrying than before. If we can get our defenders back and keep this new found threat going forward, I would really fancy our chances to go on a good run.

Ultimately we won and all that matters.

But hopefully we never ever put Martial on the Right again. It just doesnt work. It was so mind boggling it took so long for that to change.

A pretty forgettable match but Mata's goal and Rashford's attacking prowess livened it up. I'm happy with the points but I still don't think we'll get top four unless one of the teams above us implodes.

Cech and Kosicelny are out for the NLD on Saturday. Arsenal could implode if they don't respond against Spurs on Satuday. City should annihilate Villa and that leaves the door open again for United against an improved WBA on Sunday. Tough away match for United on Sunday.

The teams ahead of us are already in the process of imploding.

Kind of game we saw under SAF but, often managed to pull out. Something we've not really done with regularity since - so nice to see we were able to - especially considering once again shuffling the pack with yet another kid starting.

Igahlo and Deeney gave u a torrid time I think to start the game but, eventually found a way to settle. Blind happened to catch whatever Carrick had the other day, not being able to pass a ball and put us under unnecessary pressure especially considering he was supposed to be our leader back there.

Probably a good thing in terms of a reality check because West Brom is going to a tough game though I suspect they won't be as much of a threat going forward as Watford were today.

Memphis was shite. Back to himself from earlier in the season. Thinking he can go around all thr players when simple pass is all it takes. Hogged the ball too much.

To be honest, I was glad he was at least trying something, especially in the first half... when everyone just decided to feck about 99% of the time.

Also, he was - once again - brilliant at seeing the game out for us... not that that alone makes his performance good or anything, but it was at least useful, which is far far more then you can say about his early season stuff.

We were crap today, but I thought it was a different sort of crap at least. It wasn't that we refused to play football - as per earlier games this season - it's that we were often actively trying to play football, but were just being really bad at it... so you know, that's something I suppose.

The lads had a couple of top notch scintillating performances of late. I think we can give him some slack.

Marcos Rojo's timing and composure have always been weaknesses to his game. It showed greatly today.

Great result, especially keeping the other team's results in mind. Very nice freekick by Mata, always happy when he scores. Ca't say anything about the performance since I was forced to miss the game, but by the sounds of it, I didn't miss much. I'll take scrappy wins from here on out, put some pressure on the teams above and hopefully watch a few crumble.

We were lucky today, plenty of lapses in concentration, less hunger than Watford. This was so close to being another of those games that showed up LVG's United team inconsistency. And had we lost, the questions may have been sliding out again, rightfully or wrongfully.

That being said, you sometimes need luck and plenty of times it's gone the other way. It's games like this that wake you up but also give you confidence. To play shite and win is a confidence boost. Plenty of players can look at themselves and think they got away with one.

Given all our injuries a sloppy game was always coming and as others have said its great we managed to get by.

Martials skill helped us win the game and Rashford showed a few glimpses of his own skill and confidence. The challenge is them getting the understanding together and if that comes they could be lethal.

Overall, I'm satisfied. Finally we have been on the receiving end of other teams around us failing, as opposed to feeling like yet again we've had a lost opportunity.

We need more to get top 4, but at least the chance is there.

Got out of jail. The Watford players were just physically too strong for United. I think too many games within a short time caught up.

I think Blind's litany of chances provided to Watford made us seem worse than we were. Still lucky to take the 3 points but I think if you took away 2 or 3 of his mistakes it wouldn't feel so shaky or lucky.

Still, delighted with all the results midweek. Not getting my hopes up yet though!

The game was lost in midfield. 3 were up top too much. Mata had hard time linking with Herrera and the forwards.

There was an opportunity in the first half where Herrera was right on the top of the box wide open and he just decided to shoot with 5 in front. He does not release the ball, very few overlaps, ball just dies with him.

Would like to ser Martial on the left, Rushford up top, Januzaj or Lingard on the right.

Memphis is much better coming in as a sub and running at defenders when they tire.
