Post-match discussion

We barely created much before the first goal, but once that got in, it was over. What a difference these 2 games have been in contrast to last season. Teams will be shitting themselves now seeing Pogba, Mhki, Lukaku and Martial charging down with the ball on the counter.

John Hartson on the BBC says the scoreline flattered United.

They swarmed the midfield for about 25 minutes, did feck all after that. Did they even have a shot on target?

Good game. Another 11 or 12 games of this rate of scoring, and we'll have cleared our goals scored from last season. Easy.

 Pogba's interview. Said "good result with a clean sheet" The accent made it sound like "good result with a clean shit"

More solid than spectacular for most of it but then exploded in the last few minutes. Very encouraging signs.

Great team performance. Never in doubt as soon as we nabbed the first. This team is becoming more and more clinical. Hoping Rashford can come along in tha respect this season too.

Last season would've been a heartbreaking 1-1 at the death.
This season we're capitalising and winning 4-0.
The difference.

Love the raw pace and power. Mata and Rashford vital to tire the opposition and to keep the discipline as the bench players make a huge impact and open up spaces for us to exploit.

Absolutely, we can take heart from the fact that we stood up to the test and came out clear winners where last season we'd have buckled.

We need to keep our feet on the floor. We weren't great for long spells and Swansea caused us some trouble. There'll be times when Lukaku will be isolated up front while our non-specialist wide men and fullbacks fail to penetrate, not to mention the fact we haven't yet played one of the better teams who will put us under sustained pressure with real quality.

However it was nice to see us come through adversity so emphatically. How great is it to get a win early on Saturday?

A patient first half, defended well and absorbed a spirited Swansea fight back but we were ruthless on the counter. We look fantastic...

much better with 3 in midfield and pogba pushed forward. i think against these type of teams this should be the go to

Especially in away games. Think it has to do with not having a right sided winger and Mkhi fitting better as a shadow striker. But yes, our midfield and overall balance looks much better with a midfield 3.

Superb performance in the second half after the subs. We look really solid throughout and with the pace up front, we are really a well oiled machine.

Matic, Bailly, Jones consistent performers.

I like the idea of Rashford beating up fullbacks and letting Martial ripping apart the carcass of those defenders, at the same time, does him not starting ruin his motivation to keep scoring?

Luke Shaw, please come in and play well, Blind was a mess, mistakes in positioning, clearing and when he had space didn't want to move forward with the ball.

Thats two big wins wtihout our most important player last season, Herrera.

2 games, 8 scored, 0 conceded. this is impressive. also:

Lukaku 3 goals
Pogba 2 goals, 1 assist
Martial 2 goals, 1 assist
Mkhi 4 assists

Was a really difficult game for 80 minutes then it the last 10 minutes it got a bit mental

Despite the scoreline that was a really tough game and I'm glad it's done with. To come out with 4 goals from that is fantastic.

Struggled a bit against a packed defence in the first half and needed a little bit of luck to open the scoring. On the counter attack though we are immense.

Few quick points:
- Defence very solid again, Jones immense. Blind pretty good to.
- Our CMs are boss and we're not even using last season's POTY.
- Lukaku's hold up play not the best, but he is fecking clinical.
- I think Mkhi+Mata makes the pitch a bit too narrow. Mkhi would take my vote on current form (4 assists in 2 games) and the fact he can play on the counter too.
- Martial kinda deserves to start the next game. Either in Rashford's or Mata's place. 2 goals and 1 assist in less than 45 mins of football and clinical in front of goal.

2 games, 8 scored, 0 conceded. this is impressive. also:

Lukaku 3 goals
Pogba 2 goals, 1 assist
Martial 2 goals, 1 assist
Mkhi 4 assists
that is fantastic when shown like that!

In Jose we trust!

Their fitness and mental attitude/patience is off the charts right now.

The competition for places has increased the team level and so far individual performances. Still early doors, but can't complain about anything. Keep it going lads.

A difficult first half as it was bound to be, with a team putting 11 men behind the ball, the most difficult thing to do was to score the first goal, when we did i didn't doubt for a second that we were going to win.
That's the difference with last year, last year we would have drawn this.

Re Martial and Rashford, it is a difficult one. Rashford has been very good, as was Martial. for those saying Martial has been better than Rashford well, they didn't play in the same conditions, Martial played when Swansea was more attacking and the defenders tired. but that doesn't diminish what he did, he deserves to start next game, as does Rashford, i think that Rashford should be put on the right instead of Mata and Martial on the left.

Anyway, very good game for us considering the opposition (they've been good against us before) and the bus parking.

A new LB and we are very hard to look past in the title discussion.

Best midfield in the league and in with a shout for best defence as well, City is better in attack though.

Trying really hard not to get carried away but feck it.This is going to be like his second season at Real. Win the league and score a load of goals!
Imagine the meltdown at RAWK and Bluemoon. It will be oh so glorious.

Jose Mourinho, ladies and gentlemen.

Apparently he's a defensive coach and many on here did not want him managing us.
Apparently, he wasn't good enough.
In fact, some of the MUFC board thought exactly the same :wenger:

To be fair, thought we were going through a bit of last season miss everything syndrome in the first half. Rash 1on1 and Jones hitting the bar (was a tough chance admittedly).

Swansea did really well at times and 0-1 was a truly uncomfortable score line until the subs got made. They changed the game and absolutely punished Swansea (and their hilariously bitter fans).

The clinical finishing in the last 10 was epic and extremely satisfying to watch, something we've not had much of over the last few years. Now two consecutive 4-0s... Brilliant.

Jones has nothing to be blamed for on this header, was excellent imo. Rashford chance was the stupid one, though, but overall that's the most clinical United I have seen in these last 4 years. Hope it continues.

Swansea were good. Could have gone ahead.
But we were calm through the whole game.
Totally destroyed them in the end.
Mourinho tactically is really ahead of most managers.
Bringing on Martial and Fellani when they were chasing the game.

Simply ruthless football.

Jones! Please stay fit. I love him. He's really impressing me.

The game opens up and we put them to the sword. We wouldn't have last season. My man of the match is Matic. He really does set an example. I thought he was the difference in 1-1 and 4-0.

We're not messing around which is great to see. Last year we might have dropped points, right now we're determined not to let that happen.

Our big name players are delivering for us from Day 1.

Not a great match to watch apart from last 15 mins but defensively we look solid as a rock. :D Let's hope the good times are back.mEarly days and we've not played any of the big boys. However, you can only beat what's in front of you.

Remember those days when LVG would put Rooney as our lone striker and he couldn't score goals, because he was crap?
And LVG kept repeating, Rooney shall always play!
Those were dark days.

 It's funny cos its true.

How awesome is Matic, eh? What a difference he makes to our solidity at the back and also all the interceptions and sitting at the base of the midfield..

Pogba with an excellent 2nd half. On a yellow, could've easily be sent off if he made another foul - 1 goal, 1 assist.

We're looking grand when counter attacking - onward with the next game.

Martial and Fellaini turn what could a have been a nervy last 15 minutes into a goal fest.

Much more clinical, we seem to be able to score set pieces and we have improved on the break late game - the big changes from last year. Otherwise the same, struggling to break teams down at 0-0. Gonna have to really rely on set pieces to make the break throughs this year I think

What a weird game. Slow ponderous game and then it just exploded into a goal bonanza.

Jones and Blind played really well.

Incredibly different than last season. The finishing, composure, defending all are different. Maybe most importantly, we look deadly on counters.

This has a potential to be a very good season.

Pogba's hair is absolutely woofing

We wore them down and put them to bed. In the first half we run them ragged. Then once they were wrecked brought on Tony M and Ander and they had no answer.

fecking amazing. Counterattacking football at its finest.

So strong and powerfull all across our squad.

Pray that Philip Jones stays healthy.

Lukaku..shit first touch  fecking get in there

Huge step forward. We would not have won this last season. Mourinho said before the season more players have to contribute to the goals, well that is happening. He said we need to kill off games.....well we are doing that at the moment. It was obviously not going to be easy with 11 men behind the ball....but it's tiring to defend like that for 90 minutes and we definitely took advantage.
