PL W FA Premier League

Manchester United 3:0 Stoke City

Post-match discussion

I think the TV match director has a crush on Paul Lambert.

I said this during the game, that they made out as if Lambert is a superstar manager who is itching to takeover Stoke, to take them to the CL final.
Those shots of him in the dark, acting moody and mysterious.
I was since corrected and informed that he is absolutely abysmal and over saw the debacle that was Aston Villa.

So refreshing to be at this stage of a season and not have people constantly moaning about fecking GD!

Are you serious? We could have gone down 3-1 by half time. Ireland was unmarked twice plus a typical Crouch fiasco. I saw Mourinho rushed out and he had probably addressed the hole as we don't see Ireland having much chances particularly in the 2nd half. Still got more work to do.
DDG is part of that all round quality.

With Bailly hopefully back in Feb the back 4 looks solid with Valencia, Shaw and Jones. If Herrera can put some decent performances in then midfield is looking good as we can’t continue to play Matic/Pogba every game. Now if...IF we can add Sanchez to the ranks then this game can go far in CL and FA cup, sadly I just don’t think shitty will lose 5 out of 15 games.

One of the worst post match analysis I have ever seen. For the life of me I cannot understand why they get Michael Owen in these things. Normally Hargreaves is fairly good.

Isn't that the same guy? white letters
Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves, but listening to them you’d think they’re the same person. They’re quite a pair of clowns. Listening to Michael Owen trying to do some simple math (calculating how far behind City Arsenal currently is) was comical.

Don't worry, they're rattled.

Still a lot to be asked from the defence. One going for the trap while the other follows the run...Shaw's side exposed a few times 1st half. Pogba immense when freed forward. Valencia's left foot. Lingard with a poor game. Hard to say much tactically against a team who offered nothing. Poor officiating.

I kind of hope that this team lineup gets a few more games. They can work on some of the sloppy play leaving gaps that even stoke exploited and thankfully they are a bag of shite so we got away with those. I think if they get a chance to have a long run with this lineup and formation they could iron that out and perhaps be a bit more clinical and savage teams.

Also, I really like Stoke's away kit. Reminded me of 90s Football Italia. Something about Sampdoria in that kit.
I thought it was ghastly tbh. Some cheapo 80s kit.

they don't need to lose them all just a couple of draws here and there is just as good. Draws are deadly for points and momentum. Problem is we need to win all our remaining games realistically...

Pogba bordering on obscene!
One of Lukaku’s best games for us
Martial both brilliant and useless in equal measure!!
Stoke are woeful though, certs to be relegated

Stoke didn't offer nothing- they had at least three clear cut chances. They used Crouch well to displace Smalling and create space for runners like Ireland. Better finishing and that first half could've ended differently.

The second and third goals and our missed chances put a bit of a gloss on it. Decent performance, but if someone like Aguero had the Ireland chances, it would've been far more sticky.

Everyone was good. Stoke weren’t particularly awful either. That’s the sort of dominant but controlled performance we could do with more often. Never in doubt that we’d score more.

I suppose we mean different things. I think that their chances were due to our mistakes rather then them offering anything. Crouch fouled his way into danger and i doubt we would be set up like this against Aguero, so yeah.

Yes his middle name is andrew they shorten it to and

I just love when people don't see white letters. :wenger:

Sorry.

DDG is part of that all round quality.

Sometimes I share my feeling with Mourinho about his preference to a boring 2-0 win than a heart-attack 4-3 win. Our quality on defending was terrible and forgot to mention the once-in-a-while Smalling slippage as well. Luckily it was in the 90th min and we had DDG. If it was 3-2 then some of you might dropped to the floor.

We did what was needed against a side who were bordering on shambolic imo. Always good to get the 3 pts however. Not taking the joy away from the win. Just giving it a little perspective.

Quite - they were awful, particularly in defense. Up front, they could easily have had a couple though.

First half 2 seconds of magic the rest abysmal, second half better but some woeful decision making and finishing. Matic looks totally gassed.
