Why, why, din't get it, what it is all about?
Worth pointing out that if Greenwood had his usual shooting boots one, this would've been 5-1 or something. We deserved to win, the 2-0 flattered Saints hugely.
DDG - If you have to dive INTO the goal to save the ball, that means that either a) your positioning is wrong, or b) you have yet to figure out that the goal line is the thing you're meant to stop the ball from crossing. I mean I wouldn't be harsh but he did exactly the same thing in the last game. At least learn.
Bissaka - Not been quite the same since he chopped the top of his head off
Lindelof - In the 80th minute, against a team who constantly press the ball, Lindelof had still not figured out that he couldn't get away with having 15 touches before playing a pass. I mean he did fine, and we played ok on the whole, but we are an impressively stupid team at times, which contributes to us making games where we're easily better than the opposition needlessly difficult for ourselves. More to come on this theme.
Maguire - Can't say I noticed anything good or bad, but our general defending was ok today.
Telles - So we've scored 2 goals from 2 of his corners in 2 games...and yet when we have a corner and need a goal, and one of the opposition defneders is off the pitch due to being an idiot and pretending to be injured, Telles doesn't take the corner. Someone else does and then proceeds to spoon it along the floor. We are a stupid football team.
Matic - Why does he keep coming back into the team? Remember when Paul Scholes had to come out of retirement to replace Paul Scholes, despite not being able to run? That's what Matic is, except instead of Paul Scholes it's a 40 year old Scott McTominay. Although glad he's learned Ander Herrera's "randomly boot the ball 40 yards straight up in the air for no reason" trick.
Fred - He does so many good things. The problem with him is whenever he has the ball in our half, or is near anyone with the ball in our half, you constantly fear he's going to do something clumsy....and the reason you constantly fear this is because he literally does about 5 times a game.
VDB - I have no idea which position or role he was playing, but it wasn't the one he played in on Tuesday which is another example of why we are a stupid team. We find something that works and then proceed to invent over complicated ways of making sure we don't do it again.
Fernandes - Should have had more shots. Think he only got to about 40 odd. As usual though we lose the game if you take out his direct goal contributions.
Greenwood - Last season that would have been two goals. He'll come good again but people who think his fecking about on England duty was a non issue should sit up and take notice. It's had a lasting negative impact wich he's now going to have to work extra hard to get past.
Rashford - Not running at or in behind people enough. Those are things he's good at and which give him an edge over most other forwards. Standing still with the ball and then passing it is something he might also be good at, but is also something that is mostly pointless as we have 20 players who can do that.
Cavani - His passing is strange but if ever there was a 45 minutes that demonstrated why a certain player gives you soemthing extra, that was it.
Henderson - Must be pushing DDG close at this point surely.
Williams - Still like him. Twitter hates him. Not sure why.
Booting the ball straight off for a goal kick - Now seems to be an effective tactic for being randomly awarded corners.
Missing open goals - stop it
Weird game. Thought we were a mess at times but even at 2-0 it was just kind of apparent that we could still win. Probably because we were actually competing rather than just caving into a defensive shape as soon as we started getting pressed. 2-2 would have actually been really harsh on us by the end.

There are so many serial losers in this team. But Fernandes, Cavani and Rashford are not. You could see who was along for the ride after we clawed the game back to 2-1.

Rashford was terrible apart from the cross for Cavani. He was at fault for the first goal. The others played fairly well. The two CBs and Fred was outstanding along with Cavani.

If there were serial losers we wouldn’t have got back into this and the Everton game. Our CBs played well and really didn’t have a huge amount. to do. Conceding 2 goals against the run of play seem to elicit some seriously stupid posts. Can understand if this was during the match but you’ve had time to post a measured assessment to the game and this is the best you can come up with.
Go on, give us the wealth of experience you have in club management. As if this precludes having an opinion

I saw no reason why DvB couldn't have started in the same position he did 3 days ago in a very good champions league performance with Fred.

if We dropped points I was well primed to be on here posting just that. But kudos to Ole he went with a different set up and by luck or judgement it worked. I look at West Ham and no doubt they’ll have their best performance of the season against us and win, but should we get 3 points...in the space of 3 weeks..we look completely different points wise if nothing else.

I seem to recall that when SAF was manager we had plenty matches where we won when perhaps we shouldnt have. Why cant we simply praise the teams attitude, spirit and guts in winning from being 2 nil down?

I did, that W belongs to Bruno, Rashford and Cavani for never giving in and trying right until the death. Great 3 points for the team.

De Gea’s a victim of his own brilliance. Get’s a hand to shots that no other keeper would get close to then Caf clowns think it’s a boo-boo.
This and the freekick Vs Istanbul were both ok but they were both savable. Even if DDG might still be better on the line Henderson for me has the better all around game. Nothing against DDG and he has been a good servant I think his time as an undisputed number one might be over.

Statistically we actually dominated the game in terms of chances created so glad we managed to get the right result. Was a bit worried after they got a second wind but Cavani was not in the mood to give this game up.
