Definitely back now, Wilcox has put the fear of god into ETH
Agreed. People compare him to LvG but it’s nothing like it. There’s plenty to be justifiably thrown at Ten Hag, but the games are not boring
Completely agreeI had just sat down and found the game and United had just gone 1 down. I knew there would be more goals, not necessarily that we’d win. I prefer this to when we’d go a goal down and lose 1 or 2 nil in painfully long games where we create nothing.
Low bar ? Yes, it’s a really low bar but if this is the final few games of ETH , might aswe’ll just go out Kevin Keeganing it
Completely agree
Name the last striker that hasn’t look a handful against us?Totally dominated that shower of shite and still managed to make hard work of it. Bruno was brilliant, Antony was Antony, Garnacho was decent, Mainoo was quiet but kept it ticking over nicely in midfield. Maguire was solid enough.
Brereton Diaz looks a handful, could be worth a punt as a backup striker.

How I felt while watching it. Only we could be losing by conceding such poor quality chances and we had every chance of to win it, but so profligate it was unreal.
We were sloppy at times per usual but all in all a good displayFirst league game this season I haven’t seen a second of and it sounds like we were actually good?
Bruno looked good. Glad Rasmus got a goal.
That situation where the ref blew for a penalty but the ball ended up in the net was a bit chaotic. What would have happened in a situation like that if VAR had reviewed the decision and decided it was not a penalty? I mean, for the good of avoiding the backlash and controversy I can't see any VAR team ever making that call in that situation, but you never know
Weird feeling, relieved we won but it all feels shallow. Perhaps because you just know the next embarrassment is around the corner
Happy with the win. Hojlund got a goal and Bruno was class. Lovely header from Maguire.
My main gripe though is a common occurrence, what the hell is he doing with Mainoo tactically?
He is literally in the centre forward position or num 10 position most of the time while Dalot is in midfield getting on the ball?
This is the most talented midfielder we’ve developed in 20 years and he’s completely limiting the amount of possession he gets. Frustrating to watch.
Agreed, think it’s hilarious we get a terribly soft penalty when the ball was going into the net. Typical.Given some of the calls recently, I'd say it was a soft penalty. We've certainly had stronger claims turned down.
They. Are. Afraid.We. Are. Back.
Yeah, it’s mind boggling, why won’t he change it?!?It is the rigid adherence to his system. Mainoo is playing in the same role than McTominay plays in or Mount did at the start of the season as that 2nd AM and you can recently how his touches have dropped off because of it.
Dude is allergic to playing a standard 2 in midfield this season which is odd given that the best football Utd have played under him came with either Cas-Eriksen or Cas-Fred in midfield last season as standard pairs. The results turning to shit since he started to switch to a 4-1-4-1 post the League Cup final is traceable as well.
Yeah, it’s mind boggling, why won’t he change it?!?
Mainoo played as the deepest midfielder for about 10 minutes in the second half and that’s when Bruno scored his second. And then Mainoo went back to the AM role with Mctominay playing deepest, who is poor on the ball.
I don’t get it.
I’m fine with bringing Mctominay on for a goal, but keep Mainoo in midfield and on the ball ffs.McT was chucked on to try and grab a goal when it was 2-2, but I would guess that because of the injuries he has been dealing with recently, Ten Hag switched it to McT sitting after the goal came to protect him physically.
Or it could have been a defensive choice, in case they started hitting it long.
Positive goal difference!
Look at us agreeling, club must be turning a corner
