No new manager bounce to be seen, starting to think this is just the level of the players.
It is going to take some time to unHaag us it seems like. I am quite sure there is a lot more to come from this team with new tactics that better suits the players.

That was one of the worst first halves of football I've ever seen. So void of quality, passion, desire. It was like watching a non league friendly on boxing day. Just dire. Couldn't even string a few passes together. Just kept giving it away and breaking down play over and over. PoAK are also sht. They would be a mid table championship side at best. Terrible. Donkey sht. Seriously I don't see why Man Utd fans keep putting up with this sht.

The second half goals helped gloss over the misery. Buy it was like putting sugar on shit. Yeah us Man Utd fans will take any little joy we can these days like a homless orphan finding a bit of happiness from a smile from a stranger.
That's all we are these days. Trying to find any glimmer of hope and passion and happiness in a game of football that's just fkng miserable. Roy Keane said we are boring but that's in front of camera. Off it he would say what I said above. Boring, soulless, passionless. Just fkn miserable.

Awful game, disaster first half, tiny bit better second but still a tragedy. Thanks to Amad, we could finally beat a team whose squad worth is 94 million euros, compared to our 850 million. On the pitch te difference was a lot smaller.

The 15 minute spell after half time where we actually played forward passes through midfield was good.

Other than that it was sideways backwards or hopeful long balls, that really didn't work for us.

Little lucky PAOK weren't more clinical otherwise could do been a different story.

Still much needed three points in the bag. 1 game left for Ruud than Amorin is at the wheel and another new era starts.

Yeah it was an awful game. Got the impression Ruud was trying something a little different with the team but every second pass was going to space, people weren't making runs. It was a complete mess. Thank god we have a new permanent manager coming in but boy does he have his work cut out.

PAOK are the sort of team that any half good PL side would be expecting to put 3 or 4 goals past in the first half before taking their foot off the accelerator in the second.

Yesterday was one of the better performances I’ve seen United achieve in the last year. Solid at the back. Dominant in the midfield. Ugarte impressed on me. Evans is a true leader. Onana is starting to look like the keeper se payed for. Bruno needs to step up his game.
Dear Sir/Madam, I'm so impressed with your sarcasm, at least I sincerely hope that is what your comments are. As my opinion is , sorry it HAS to be sarcastic. We are constantly being informed by the majority (Keane excepted) of "expert" pundits how talented these players are and are frequently under performing. This "frequently under performing" has become an excuse of sorts, as if a magician, (Paul Daniels perhaps) will come in, wave a magic wand, utter "izzy wizzy let's get bizzy", and all will become well in the world. Sorry, these "talented" players are so far off with their impersonation's of footballers that I genuinely feel sorry for Amorim and the job that he has taken on. This squad fails incessantly with basic skills, passing, closing down, tackling, physical strength, etc. and last night, Amad excepted, illuminated this failure, yet again.

Watching the game last night and I heard the commentator saying we havent won a match in Europe in over 300 days. Wild! It makes me nauseated that we kept Ten Haag for so long.

Lots of praise to Cassemiro, Onana and Amad. I really hope the new manager plays Amad more.

Game could have gone either way. POAK missed a glaring chance and a couple of fantastic saves by Onana kept us in the game.

Disjointed play. Lacks chemistry.

Amad and Onana had good games. Amad did well for his goals but misplaced quite a number of passes though.

We're looking much more balanced under Ruud. The players seem to really get his instructions, especially in midfield and defense. The defense is solid, and the midfield is finally clicking. But our attack is where we’re struggling. Right now, it feels like we're just passing to the wingers and hoping they can take a shot. Höjlund, unfortunately, is barely involved; it’s more an issue with our style of play than his own ability. Amorim definitely needs to address this if we're going to attack with more fluidity. With a bit more cohesion up front, I think we’ll start winning games comfortably.

Amad, on the other hand, brought great energy and passion. He deserves more starts—not only for his attitude but also his skills.

Maybe the caption influenced it, but I can't remember when last I've seen a United wide player combatively win back the ball and do that with it.

First half was a complete tragedy, what an extremely poor performance. Second was slightly better, however still bad. We need new wingers, and a coach who can create some tactics where the wingers and midfielders keep feeding the striker. However, even when we are in bad form it's obigatory to beat a team whose squad worth is 95 million compared to United's 854 million. And the difference on the pitch was nowhere near as big as the values would suggest. Rashford should go, Antony too, we should replace them with quality, reliable wingers, Amad would be a perfect backup.

reasonable performance (when compared with the last year) but without Amad it wouldn't have looked so. He was very good and Johnny Evans was his usual solid self. Maz was solid too. Onana is being to look more of a fit these days and that's about it... I didn't think garno was a bad as some here are saying

Poor performance, but the results are by far the most important thing in these matches Ruud is in charge. He's not going to work miracles in a couple of weeks when everyone knows it's temporary.

Not a great performance overall, but Amad made it worth a watch. He's threatened that performance since the start of the season and last night it clicked.

Goals were good of course, but what stood out for me was his decision making. Whether he was choosing to cut inside or go right, or making the decision to shoot or to pass, he usually got it right. Contrasts favourably with Garnacho.

Beyond that, Mazraoui is a Rolls Royce. Not a showy player, but he oozes class. Amad deserves the MOTM, but Maz looked the best player on the pitch.

Not too many good performances beyond that. Casemiro was good for a while but disappeared. Ugarte looked comfortable without being spectacular. A few stinkers too, like Dalot and Hojland.

This still feels like a team looking for a plan. No shade on Ruud for that, that's not his job. He was asked to keep the show on the road and so far he has. But we're back to hoping for individual moments rather than coordinating our attacks. Next week can't come soon enough. Lets see what Amorim can do in the next few months.

His name is Jonny Evans

We're up to the dizzying heights of 15th!!

The teams we’ve played sit in 21st, 22nd, 27th and 33rd, so we’ve had as easy a group of fixtures as possible. Gets tougher next though - Bodo/Glimt are all the way up in 12th!

Poor first half and 2nd half wasn't much better. Amad was really poor in 1st and got us the win later so happy with his performance, should now start vs Leicester.

Bodo/Glimt (H), Viktoria Plzen (A), Rangers (H), FCSB (A) left in Europa. Have to win at least 3 of those 4, but ideally all 4. It's games we should be winning.

We'll beat them - they'll probably be suffering from vertigo from being so high-up

I’d be cautious on this excitement with Amad. Where was this ravenous tackling when he started the season ?

Makes me think a bit like Pogba after Jose was sacked , amazing for 2 months and he reverted back to apathy type when it suited him.

I’ve a real issue with United players who look off and then have this burst of form/passion when a manager is sacked. Thats not the kind of players with the kind of character that are good for creating winning cultures. They quite often poison a dressing room as their form/performances are about themselves, not the team.

Hes still young , so im not entirely damning him, but let’s see how long this aggressive enthusiasm lasts.

I consider myself to have a grounded opinion of him. Players can become overrated on here when they aren't playing as much as people want.

EtH played Mazraoui over him in attack, that tells me amongst other things he didn't rate this fella that highly. And despite that, I never sensed apathy from Amad, just frustration.

I feel you're drawing far too many concrete conclusions.

Let's see indeed.

Yep. Cut out this scoring goals crap. We need you defending and passing back to the keeper.

Pogba? He who never tracked back or scored goals when the rest of the team couldn’t? Phuck me pal. Get a grip. His attitude is a million miles away from Pogba thank God.

Have to be honest, was a pretty poor match from most of our players not named Amad or Mazraoui(who just continues to be the consistency standard the rest of the players should strive to play at...).

1st half was a mess, Bruno and Amad tried at times but nothing really went well.

Garnacho yet again not that good, Dalot continues his poor form, specially in attack. Højlund was pretty poor as well, didn't get the ball much (shocking), but the times he did... not good. Really hope (and think) that things will turn around for him when Amorim comes in. The rest where meh to ok. Very important 3 points though.

The main point was that I expect to see the same tenacity from Amad going forward, do you disagree with this sentiment ?

I wasn’t really drawing any conclusions, I was more reflecting on the over reaction to a United player actually working hard and getting a good goal.

I don’t think it’s entirely about ability with managers. Sometimes it’s also how a player responds to a managers instruction or a players ability to find form or perform in an under performing team.

Amad didn’t exactly hit the ground running this season when he was started most games and wasn’t exactly tearing things up first half yesterday. Let’s see how he gets on with our new manager , fascinated to see who might do better.

The few changes RVN had made seem to unsettle the balance he had created in the two previous games and we made hard work of it; by the end of the first half PAOK were beginning to think they might have chance, the best shot on goal in first half coming from them.
We are prone to letting the natural home advantage at OT against lower ranked teams get to be wasted away when we fail to press home on their fears in the first half. As last night their confidence grew as we gained no advantage.
Thankfully two excellent goals from Ahmad our best man on the pitch, got us home safe and sound in the second half.

Amad getting 98% of the MOTM vote on here (Rightly so). Is that the most one sided vote ever?

First half poor. It was interesting to hear Ruud addressing it: he said players were running out of position instead of following instructions, which made everything harder.

Paok is a good side, which showed, but we should comfortably beat them. Once we turned up the intensity, they were no match for us.

Amad was outstanding. Not sure what was going on with him, but Ruud benched him in the previous two games as well. I’d start him against Leicester.

Casemiro with legs beside him is the way it always should have been, ETH made him look like a wheezy 40 a day man with his bizarre tactics , the guy just fvcking oozes class..

Yes exactly. Casemiro hadn't become a bad player overnight. But you have to understand how to use him most effectively. Something Ten Hag seemed to forget.

As far as I'm concerned Amad was probably our best player for the first month of the season, he just looks like a proper footballer on many levels. No idea whatsoever why ETH suddenly benched him, especially now Ruud has talked about his great attitude in training. Glad to see him do well last night and, assuming he fits well with Amorim's system he deserves the time now to cement himself as a first choice. Silly ETH...

Bruno was good too. Great cross for goal 1. Amad misplaced a few few passes, but he has great appetite and took his goals well. Evans was good, as was Mazraoui. Keeper was good, but a bit slow moving. Dalot made some useful interceptions as did Casemiro. Fair play to Van N for benching Rashford.

I think if the game had gone on for a further 10 minutes or so, Shola would have left the pitch on a stretcher. I am not sure what he was thinking going in late like that on Casemiro.

Both of Amad's goals were class. That second one was pure grit and determination at 75 minutes in. Most of our guys are gassed at 60.
