Fair play, that was an incredible finish. I think winning this can't be understated. 14th in league and no European football next season, very hard to attract decent talent. Win this and it's still a very big European final, Champions League qualification, much more positive vibe over the Summer and the chance to attract better quality of player.

The squad does obviously still need an overhaul whatever happens, McGuire has shown in his forward cameos just how poor others have been, especially Hojlund.

We played well in parts, disastrous in parts too, this was our season in one game. But the main point is this all seem to be going somewhere bit by bit imo.
Im not sure you can say that to be honest. The truth is we struggled against 10 men for large parts. Don’t analyse it just revel in those last goals.

What a match. Don’t think I’ve gone through so many emotions in 90 minutes of football before, that’s including the 99’ champions league.

Strangely I feel like we’d fair better taking a shot with Maguire up front as our striker and feeding him cross after cross . It can’t be no worse than what’s currently available.

But we were ok in the 1st half. But you're sure I wont analyse it, just enjoying the morning. :)

I don't try to get carried away with these sorts of positive results, but that kind of a comeback has got to do some wonders for morale and confidence in the squad. Being part of that reaction from the stadium must make you wake up and realise what's possible here and what the positives can be like.

If we do win the Europa then the season isn't a complete bust, so we have to throw everything at it now surely.

But we should never have had to instigate a comeback. We were firmly in the driver’s seat against 10 men.

If anything, the game is a stark reminder of how fragile we are defensively and tactically. It may provide a ‘feel-good’ narrative now but it won’t paper over the obvious cracks we have in the squad. I expect us to get knocked out against Bilbao - we’ll have moments of promise and then self-destruct in spectacular fashion.

Yep still buzzing today. Just overhead two people talking about it in the gym and one didn’t know the final score. Was fun to hear it told to his amazement

What a night. Mainoo finish was spectacular. Crazy game. Felt like a Champ manager game

Minor point, but I thought the referee was really good yesterday. Let the game flow, gave yellow cards on first tactical fouls, got both penalties correct, didn't fall for Lyon's bullshit, etc.

Can't think of anything significant he got wrong.

This type of win in theory should give the team an unshakeable belief and confidence for the remainder of the EL. 3 goals in the last 7 minutes is the stuff of legends.

I did not see the match as I was out with friends but my god that seemed like a true rollercoaster of a match based on the BBC Sport live text feed.

Like Mainoo playing further forward, he has an eye for a goal and is good at running into the box.
Agreed. I always thought he was more a deep lying midfielder when he first broke into the team. He definitely suits playing behind the striker. So much technical ability.

Still getting tingles through my body when I watched the highlights this morning after Maguire scored.

Incredible.

Pull on Maguire in the box? Didn’t see a replay but thought it was a pen

Proud to say I was there and didn't leave.at 4-2!
Never know celebrations like those after the 4th and 5th goals.
Well worth the 7 and a quarter hours it took me to get to the ground

I did think at 4-2 the people leaving were taking a massive risk of missing something special. There were still 10 minutes to go against 10 men.

Felt too early to completely give up, as shite as we were.

Watching that and the radio commentary it blows me away how close together the two goals were.
I’m seeing very little praise for Casemiro’s role in the goals. He may have slowed horribly and be an idiot at times, but he still has quality in pressurised big games

Not saying we should keep him or that he deserves the huge contract, but credit where it’s due

I really hope Amad is back for the next European game. He has the ability to unlock the defence and do something meaningful with the ball. I really hope the striker in Hoijund can redeem himself in the last 3 European games.

Amad at rwb last night would’ve made a huge difference. As well taken as his goal was, Dalot was poor apart from it and his decision making was well off.

I see the usual suspects are saving a pop at Rasmus but Drury was right, he’d clearly been told to play deeper and he linked up play well. Was also well placed had garno picked him out at least once. Can’t question his passion and desire although obviously we need a no.9 who scores goals

I have had a feeling for months that we’d play Spurs in the final and Rasmus would score… I do wish kazoo had gone thru cos we reserve our very worst performances for Spurs

Looking back at the predictions… how did no one go for 5-4… we all know nothing

Dalot has played an insane amount of football this season. In a position where he probably has to cover more ground than anyone else. He’s running on fumes. If we can find a way to give him a rest between now and the final he’ll look like a much better player.

Yeah he needs a rest, definitely. But even at his freshest he’s lacking going forward. The wing back role needs a winger rather than a right back.

Watched the last 15 minutes again this morning. Still got goosebumps!! Mother of all comebacks!!

I’m not sure. He’s got more productive as he’s got used to the role. Scored a couple of goals in Europe and assisted in his last league game.
Either way he needs some help. I’d still sign a right wing back and let the two of them fight it out.

It must be horrible to be a Lyon fan this morning… I’m sure they felt it was in the bag but I actually felt a bit of confidence when lacazette over celebrated the penalty - he clearly thought they’d won

First half was quite good, even with 2-3 dangerous chances Lyon had. We were mostly in control and played well. Start of 2nd half didn't look bad either, but then Garnacho makes a great run, sends defender wrong direction and misses that sitter. Immediately thought that would cost us because at 3-0 don't think Lyon would be able to come back. Afterwards Lyon had most of the ball but don't remember them having many chances until that free kick (think it was given because of handball from some of our players) and they're back into the game with that first goal. Second goal soon came as well and felt like we just lost control of the game and couldn't handle them at all.

Extra time is another story. Playing against 10 men but conceding 2 goals says enough. Three goals to win it 5-4... I didn't celebrate much as crazy as it sounds (one reason is VAR and possibility of some kind of foul or offside from Mainoo/Maguire) but that's historic game no doubt. Perhaps bit like when Liverpool beat Dortmund 4-3 in Klopp's first season.

We're got too many problems so winning Europa will be really difficult but can't imagine how toxic this place would be if we lost last night. Amorim would've been under more pressure as well even though you'd think he's safe either way.
