Very happy, just kind of can't believe it after the shit show we where dragged through last season.

Not long back from a great day at Wembley.

It was very much a job done performance today, we looked tired (as is to be expected) and never controlled the game but we were clinical and defended superbly. The first of many for ETH hopefully!

V professional performance, effective, great management, clinical, two v good goals. ETH is managing that setup so well. The subs today were spot on for example. Closed the game out.

Great feeling, great day out for club and fans!

Well done all...and the big games keep coming...

Congratulations to United. Trophy in hand and playing excellent team football.

Jealous.

We played an effective and solid game, but not the great, dominating type. Understandably, the congested schedule affect our player fitness.

Newcastle doesn't have it in them to raise for the occasion, and we delivered a professional performance just enough to comfortable manage the game to our victory.

Hopefully this is the first trophy for others that would come soon.

Newcastle are so dirty and underhanded that I'm almost as happy to deprive them of a trophy as I am about us winning it.

Having said that, we really neutered Newcastle, to the point where it was quite comfortable. I never felt like we were going to lose. They huffed an puffed, but chances were scarce for them.
It reminded me a lot of the Europa League final against Ajax. They had the majority of possession but could never really get into dangerous areas.

Fellaini alone broke down all of Ajax's midfield attacks. Incredible scene back then.

Yesterday was hit and miss for me, family reasons, didn't end up going yesterday, which was gutted about but sadly my grandad passed away just minutes before the game and seeing us win, made me and my dad proud and his last words was "united till I die" , just hope now we can win the fa cup, Europa and hopefully the prem for him.

Happy for the win, sorry to hear about your grandfather. Condolences and I agree with you win the lot for the old man.

Being primarily a rugby player, I would think that Martinez would have made a great rugby player, hard, nasty and unforgiving. He has a death stare that would have given me a few palpitations if I had upset him on the pitch, and kept me looking over my shoulder for the retribution I know would be forthcoming. What a great player. Cas looks like he could handle himself too. Varane is one of the most elegant centre halves I've seen, never looks flustered. These three will win us more trophies and also give ETH time to line up their successors (well not so much Martinez - he is younger).

Great result of course, but the manner of it was also 'invigorating'. Taking our chances and quick 'one-two'... only minutes between the goals, then a magnificent defense mentality led by Martinez and Casemiro and Varane.
Bodes well for the future.

I kept rubbing my eyes for a long time. I couldn't believe we won something. Thank You EtH. We will always cherish this. I'm sure you'll propel us into something very big! :D

Now that I managed to enjoy a good night of sleep, I can finally share my impressions on how I lived that great day yesterday.:)

I was at the Burgundy Lion Pub in Montreal alongside a few dozens of United friends; that pub is arguably the city's most renowned place for watching English football in town. There were a few Newcastle fans trying to pump up the noise on their side, but United fans in the place responded tit for tat. Furthermore, we pulled quite a few songs from the repertoire: "We've Seen It All", "Cheer Up Alan Shearer", "You Are My Solskjaer", "Rashford Is Red", "U-N-I-T-E-D", "Ten Hag", "Drink To Eric The King" and a few more. Boos and "We Want Glazer Out" chants erupted when Avram Glazer was shown on TV. In all, we had one hell of a blast yesterday.

For the game itself, there was obviously the small bit of nervousness about the possibility of conceding the first goal or conceding a goal early in any half. But I must say that we kept on growing in confidence as soon as we got the grip on the final with that Casemiro goal and Rashford adding the next one moments later. After that, it was a matter of keeping up enough pace to not let Newcastle back in the game. Fatigue was visible towards the end, but the lads kept on fighting 'til the very end and did not let Newcastle off the hook at all.

To quote Gary Neville, "it was unthinkable" that this team would grow from the side that was battered by Brentford only 6 months ago into a very hungry team on the up. I think what makes this team so likable to the eyes of many United fans I hang around with as well as myself is the sense of togetherness in the team (players, coaches and staff), embracing the new culture pushed forward by Erik Ten Hag. That powerful connection between the team and the fans in the celebrations... It was just so beautiful to watch.

To think that it had been 6 years since we last won a trophy makes me appreciate this victory even more, especially when it was only 3 days after that emotional comeback against Barcelona. Nevertheless, this victory is definitely different and better compared to the time when we won the League Cup under Jose. It is the springboard we needed for more to come.

Having winners in the side that are coached properly gives you chances ,Casimero, Varane, DDG all winners Martinez as well, now the rest join them and there all winners . On to the next.

For whatever reason nobody ever seems to play great football at Wembley, just need to get the job done and they did that perfectly. Really professional performance, especially the 2nd half which might not have been nice to watch but was managed so well.

Awesome feeling to win a trophy but also good to see so many of the players immediately saying that 1 isn't enough. Hopefully we can solve that problem later in the season!

Looking back now after the excitement of yesterday has worn off, it was a masterclass in game management once we got our noses in front.

I was always confident we'd win this, but I didn't think we'd manage to keep Newcastle at arms length so comfortably.

A few standout performances, such as Casemiro, Martinez, Varane and AWB in the second half, along with Luke Shaw and Rashford providing cutting edge in the big moments.

Overall, it was the ruthless efficiency that impressed me so much. We couldn't afford the game to be open and end to end after playing such a big game Thursday.

This felt like the performance of a seasoned team used to winning titles, not a new group falling over the line like you may have thought would have been the case with the pressure and the sheer number of games we've played.

I have no doubt - had Rashford/Bruno not been so fatigued or if Garnacho had of been brought on instead of Sancho…the game plan would have been complete and we would have punished them at least once or twice on the break second half. All in all - I don’t know how the lads are still playing to these levels considering the amount of games. ETH is really getting these lads running through walls for him. It’s very encouraging.

Does anyone have a clip of the Dan Burn interview where he slipped and said 'United' instead of 'Manchester United' - because everyone knows which United it means.

I have a light hearted discussion from time to time with a ground of Newcastle and West Ham fan friends about there being only one United, and I'd love to share it with them.

I'm loving absolute saltiness of people complaining about us celebrating winning the league cup. With us knocking Barca out of europe and people complaining about us celebrating a cup win, really starting to cement the fact that we are back.

Would actually fancy us to win the FA Cup and Europa if it wasn't for the fixture pile up that has happened because of the World Cup and then the Euro Qualifying break at the end of the March.
