Post-match discussion

Thats what you get for being negative.
We made 2 attacking subs at half time, were 2-0 down, spent the whole 2nd half trying to get back into the game... And we still couldn't create a chance.

We are not negative, we are shit. Our players give the ball away in easy possession, can't create chances, and can't cross. Doesn't matter how "positive" you are, if all your players have the touch of a donkey you aren't going to attack well.

Gutted. Except last 10 minutes we walked without any desire. Our play in general was really bad. We should stop with this nonsence with lingard . He is just not a player for united. Period. Not for first team, not for rotation, not for b team. It is time to play lukaku, rashford and martial in front 3. And yes, we really miss pogba and fellaini.

We should have brought the bus with us. Utterly awful performance. When we are without certain players we look really poor. Under Fergie you knew we'd be back to normal the next game, but I'm not so sure with this bunch. I'm just don't think they are strong enough mentally.

That is not true, but he will tell them to pass forward. Too many players are too comfortable playing easy and pointless passes. They pass just to pass sake.
Too many pointless players.
This.
No urgency in the play and far too slow in thought. Taking too many touches, taking too long on the ball and making terrible decisions.

Classic flat, leggy post-Champions League away game away performance.

Right....right? :nervous:

I fecking hate football. I absolutely fecking hate football.

PS: Any reason why we can't vote on players? Just says "please rate all players"
Man, that's childish. *ba-dish*

I say the same to myself, as well. I hate football so much, and wonder why I bother watching when I get so angry and sad.

First time I've been truly disgusted with Mourinho's tactics.

How is Mourinho to blame for Mata & Lindelof mistakes gifting Huddersfield two goals, and the likes of Herrera and Mkhitaryan not being able to control the ball or pass 10 yards?

Could have just promoted academy graduates instead of spending so much money, and still we would have got the same result. Feck this.

Thats what you get for being negative.
This. We were winning but people had to criticise Mkhitaryan, just to talk about something. Then a 'bad' performance was blown up. If things are going badly, you don't be negative. That just makes it worse. All of this would have been forgotten in a little while but people just couldn't leave it alone.

It hard to know where to start with a performance like that, a lot of scrutiny will go on the players, there was a complete lack of craft and guile in that display, lots of speed but zero nous or invention, and you have to wonder if part of that comes from how we are training, we don't seem to have attacking patterns like you see with teams like City, Real, PSG, Napoli, Dortmund etc....It all just looks a bit off the cuff.

We are now 5 points behind City and that could easily be 11 before the next International break.

We were hurt badly by two school boy errors.

We have a VERY weak midfield.

We have too many average players.

Our set-up in the last two games has impacted us badly..We had no attacking flow today at all.

The poise and intelligence are not there. So many times a player who had the ball under no pressure made a 5 yard pass to a player with a man on his back with no option to do anything.
The amount of players at this club who do not recognize how to create spaces and move the right way is just shocking.
The identity of our attacking play is missing and it's been that way for many years.

Them knees be jerking.

Bet you wanted De Gea gone after his first season?

Why does every new player have to be compared to the ones that worked out? There have been far more that didn't work out. People always say but De Gea, but Evra, but never but Kleberson, Bellion, Miller, Obertan, Bebe etc.

At the moment Lindelof looks less fit for the Premier League than the lovechild of Mikael Silvestre and William Prunier!

Gutted, best we can realistically hope for now are runners-up. City looks unstoppable we look like one-trick ponies.

Our players didnt look ready for a fight..
Lindelöf, Mata and Mkhitaryan garbage..

Seems we always have one of these type of games away to a newly promoted sides.

It happened under Fergie as well, against the likes of Wolves & Burnley.

Don't feel like seeing any more football this weekend.

Time to rest my mind for a day and then come on later.

Two woeful individual errors costing us yet again. Some elementary errors really.

To top it off Jones is now hurt. FFS. Whats with our players and getting injured.

Only way I see it is we need to invest heavily into new attacking players. Mata and Herrera can go. Mkhitaryan's form has gone to shit too. Tired already and we havent even hit the halfway mark? Terrible.

Pray that we get Griezmann in the summer. We need SOMETHING to provide service to Lukaku. He is completely devoid of anyone putting in a decent cross or pass.

Meh... feck off Huddersfield.

Hopefully this one of those fcukups that we bounce back from. We've had results like this before and the wheels haven't fallen off. Form is a worry tho :nervous:

Mourinho is a fecking cockwomble. Negative cnut who spent the last two weeks being a bitch in the media. He’s set us on a downward trajectory since that Liverpool game. We’ll be horrendous against Spurs and Chelsea. Guaranteed.

We've played one negative game this season, one. Not sure its Mou thats the cockwomble.

The fact we've been shit since because of the injuries kind of makes me glad we didn't go for it at Anfield.

I think it's fair to say we're in a bit of a slump now, we somewhat got away with it in the previous 2 matches but not today. Considering some of the games we've got coming up we need to improve pretty sharpish.

Today shows how far we still have to go. I said it before but my hope this season is for us to compete with City, if we finish in the top 3, have a good run in the UCL and win a cup i'd consider it a good season. People told me thats rediculous, that we should be aiming to win everything but today shows how far we still have to go. We've made good progress since Jose came but we're still 3-4 players away from winning anything.

Mata and Herrera are the darlings of United but the fact is neither are good enough. Herrera has no real quality except to get about the pitch, not to dissimilar to Fletcher. I feel for Mata because he isnt a winger but hes not even our best number 10. When you're trailing behind the likes of Fellaini and Miki for your preferred spot its time to call it a day. Young is a good make shift LB but we really need someone who can play that position as he does a job there but isnt great.

The squads made some good progress but we are missing 2 attacking players (ala Sanchez and Guizman) and 2 fall backs. I dont share everyones doom and gloom but today was a bit of a wake up call to how far we still have to go.

A nuisance performance....but shit happens, and it most certainly did in Fergie's time. Not sure why it's being blamed on going for a 0-0 against a super effective offensive opponent....or a comeback that never looked likely, because BOTH happened under Fergie.

It's a case of getting away from this loss quickly. Something as a team they've struggled to do post-Fergie....slumps didn't last long in the Fergie years, that's the difference.

Mata and Lindelof made bad errors but they are not the reason we lost the game. We had around 70 minutes to score at least 2 goals and we couldn't do it. Who in that team can say they did themselves proud? Only Rashford and Lukaku looked like they cared. Lingard and Herrera can feck off. Valencia, Martial, Young were awful. Sideways and backwards passing galore. It was like LVG came back for this game.

Yous can’t blame Rooney today...

Maybe it’s time our fans woke up to the fact Herrera is utter garbage.

We create nothing. Zero urgency combined with individual error. Poor football throughout, devoid of basics like passing with composure. Not even a fight from 90% of them. Deserved loss.
