Pellistri ahead of Antony. Always
Maguire MOTM.
Maguire MOTM.
I think Europe is least of our worries. I'm more worried about spiraling more out of control and finishing bottom half. Right here, right now, top 10 would be an achievement. These players are too sensitive to play for united. Two poor teams, we will do well to qualify for any kind of european football next season, dreadful.
Eriksen and Antony should not play on a higher level than australian 3rd division when they perform like this.
Maguire or Onana. Onana made 2 very big saves to keep us in. Maguire was excellent and brave too. How the weeks have changed.Poor performance. Good win. Maguire was the MOTM. Antony should be nowhere near this team, our biggest waste of cash ever.
Maybe harsh on Eriksen, but do you think Antony would be able to beat a man on that level? You obviously haven't seen the Australian A League, much less 2 divisions down. I'd get a run out for the 3rd division.
1. The manager has not lost the players, most of them are still out there fighting.
2. Our attack is fundamentally missing a balance of goal threats. Hojlund, 20 and Garnacho, 19 are essentially carrying all the burden because i. Rashford is having a terrible season, ii. Antony is a dud, iii. Sancho is a cnut.
3. Bruno makes high risk high reward passes in general, but chances of reward are abysmally low because of 2. That's why he looks bad right now. Sort the front three out with genuine threats, and he'll look unstoppable again.
4. Our midfield has no balance. McTominay and Eriksen cannot be the base of any feasible side, because McT is limited technically, and Eriksen is not a DM. Casemiro being injured and the unwise signing of Mount has led to this. EtH is not responsible for these options being shit, but he is responsible for the poorly thought out signing of Mount.
5. Maguire was a rock today. Dalot is trying at LW, but we need a natural LB there. We could use his energy on the right if Shaw/Malacia come back.
6. Onana made some crucial saves today.
7. Sacking ETH is not the solution, yet. Delegating transfer decisions to a more competent authority is definitely needed.
8. VAR is actively trying to feck us over, and we need to make a big deal of it like Klopp and Pep do.
Pellestri probably did enough to start over Antony just for the sheer determination he showed for the goal.
Don't actually agree with what you wrote about Fernandes. I am usually a critic of his, but the last 30 mins or so he was the one really driving them forwards and stoped Palinha breaking by tracking him back, did some great passes as well. Scored a badly needed goal. The big positive was Pellistri showing in that game that if you actually jump for a header you might win one. Better than Antony.
Such a relief but the goal doesn’t mask how awful Fernandes was for 90 minutes. Basic errors from him all the time.
Take the points and build on it. There was a sign of the players showing a bit more bite in the tackle and desire.
Jenas showed his true colours. A colossal bastard of a man.
Had a chuckle at thisI’ve been sat on my arse since 12:30 and I’ve done enough to deserve to start over Antony.
