Excellent performance, we were incisive and punished their poor workrate at every turn, Lukaku and Martial were great in tandem and we looked comfortable throughout, just wish he'd gotten his hat-trick. I also thought the distribution from Blind and Lindelof was superb and kept us moving onto the front foot all game.
 
Somehow ended up with a 6.8 average rating despite giving four players over 8/10, but I suppose that is our defence's fault :lol:

Ace result though. First half was outstanding, best half of European in years and the attacking trio blew them away. We started off in a similar vain in the second half but eased off after Mkhi and Martial went off and looked suspect at the back but a much more comfortable evening than I was expecting.
 
MOTM Akinfeev - Would have been embarrassing without him.

I'll take that for a cold night in Russia away anytime :D
 
Players were half-asleep yet still delivered. Goal is on the keeper, unlucky, went through his leg, but from this angle, should save it.
 
I'm loving that Martial is finally turning it on in matches he starts. Very important if he wants more game time this season that he proves his worth as more than a ruthless super sub.

Also, if Lukaku wants to continue this whole scoring in every game lark that he's got going on I'm perfectly fine with that.

It's very rare any team dominate a game so much in Champions League away.
 
What the hell, i knew they would score in the end... i just wish this doesn't happen in important games where such a late goal changes the outcome of the match... happened twice already with burton and cska, hopefully it's more due to subs and just players relaxing cause of the margin of the score.
 
Great game. Did not expect it to be as easy as it was, but we were really good! Long may it continue. Hope Martial is ok though, don't want injuries now.

Extremely happy with that! Nothing like I expected and Basel banging a 5-0 against Benfica bodes extremely well for us in this group, over the moon!

Back 3 were good, no complaints there especially Lindelof who didn't put a foot wrong really and I've chastised him a bit. Good lad, Victor!

Lukaku is a 'ucking menace. Simple as that. Great 3pts, now I'll take ANY kind of win at Palace this weekend but expecting something pretty big as they're a shambles and we're firing on all cylinders.
 
Bit pissed that we conceded late on again after burton but 3pts is what matters. Whole team was superb especially Herrera, Martial and Lukaku.

There keeper also deserves a shout because if it wasnt for him could have been an easy 7 or 8 nil.
 
I really wanted to us to score the fifth but for some reason we always seem to stop at 4. Maybe at the weekend. It was a good performance but CSKA are the worst team we will face all season. Walk in the park.
 
Fantastic performance. Totally dominant away in europe. I think we are just very good although CSKA started terribly though. Martial and Lukaku amazing today and only downside is we should have scored 3-4 more goals. We create chances like crazy at the moment though. Overall our start to the season have been amazing. Almost having the group in the bag now and have had a great start to the league. Keep it up everyone!
 
Mourinho on injures:

1) Didn't comment on Martial but said it was a shame he couldn't play 90 minutes as he wanted him to

2) Carrick for Palace: no chance

3) Jones for Palace: many many doubts

4) Fellaini for Palace: fewer doubts

In that case, you'd assume Smalling in for Jones partnering Bailly.
Matic and Herrera in CM. Fellaini maybe off the bench.


Pure Sherlock Holmes work. Carrick is done I think though, we might be lucky to see him 10 times this season and I expect him to retire in the summer.

Yeah I think we are fine for weekend. Hopefully we have Martial off the bench too. Think we need that option at home as some teams come to OT and make it scrappy and tough.

My pick would be De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Young, Matic, Herrera, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Lukaku. Rashford didn't do that well when he came on today so I think Martial deserve to start over him. Think a rested Mata should play this game. A Palace parking the bus will suit him very well to break them down. If things go bad we send in Rashford in the second half.
 
Not sure what to make of that. CSKA were very poor yet they managed to score and test DDG a few times.
We seemed to be "up' for it and dominated but poor finishing , poor touch and lack of ruthlessness stopped us from scoring 7 or 8.
Martial was class.
Herrera and Matic looked good.
Their fans were good.
How did Rom not get his first hatrick for us?
 
Very good result and performance.

Not easy to play in Moscow. Could have scored at least 2 more goals too.
 
Martial had no defensive duties today, and he was the best player in our attack on the feild.
