Post-match discussion

Thank you players and manager. Stuff like that makes our day and week that much brighter.

I thought everyone played their part and put in the effort. Our front 3 are still rough around the edges with the misplaced passes, but they tried and attacked.

Amrabat A
McT A
Maguire A-
Dallot A
Garnacho A
Shaw A-
Reguillon A
Everyone else B

Great performance and result. A pleasure to watch. Has to keep the similar lineup.

Only issue. Hujland makes a lot of good runs that either go unnoticed or are players don’t feel confident trying to feed. We need to start working on feeding his runs. Otherwise he’s just going to lose interest

Good result. They all played for each other and flat out as well. We need to be more clinical though. TH got it right 99%. Dont like the fact he brought Rashford on. Seems to show he will be back next game, which shouldnt happen.

Great result but what I liked the most was the amount of chances we created. Yes it was largely due to Chelsea's terrible performance (deja vu from our last encounter in May) but still it was fantastic to see that after some frustrating results we've had lately.

Thought Onana could've done better with Palmer's goal but was fine otherwise (and saved Jackson's sitter). Amrabat was really good, so was Bruno and McTominay obviously with goals. I'm happy we have Reguillon as an option at LB position, at least temporary.

December started in bad fashion at Newcastle but hope we can build on this win.

Our best XG since may 2023 (5.31) - also against Chelsea at home

Really happy for the result. Entertaining game, but we are wasteful and vulnerable in defense. Thankfully Chelsea were absolute shit. If we play like this with Liverpool they will destroy us

Don't devalue the effort and gameplan by assuming Chelsea just played badly, that's just what it looks like when a high press is working. The opponent makes a lot more mistakes when they have no time to pick out a pass and use proper technique.

Best we’ve played in a long time but I’m not getting carried away, Chelsea were terrible and still nearly nicked a draw at the end.

I wonder how Pochettino’s mom feels about the result.

That's the spirit mate

Enjoyed that. We’ve been crying out for some desire and commitment, we had plenty of that tonight.

Sure, still lots of fine tuning needed, but putting in the effort is a necessary baseline. After they equalised I feared our fragile confidence would break, but nope, we got ourselves going again.

Much improved and deserved win.

Shaw was great tonight. Maguire adding an attacking side to his game. Bruno is a gifted player not appreciated enough around here. Well done Scott Mctominay. Other honourable mentions to Amrabat, Regulion, Anthony, and Garnacho, whose energy and attitude is great to see. Sorry to see Rashford get on the field. I want him gone from the club.

Best performance of the season by a lot. Something to build on.

Great performance overall, even Rashford pretended to care a little bit.
Maguire, Amrabat and Antony had a very good game and for the first time in ages I felt that the team really cared and wanted to win.
More of the same please!

Yeah, saw that. 2 really entertaining games.

I'm not trying to devalue. I liked and enjoyed our gameplan. But the way Chelsea coped with it was just terrible. We did better at Newcastle the other night even though we couldn't get out of our own half for most of the time.

Would have been truly ridiculous if we'd failed to win that - we battered them. Really enjoyed this one.

Couldn’t watch the game but seemed like a great performance. Maybe I should watch us less. I always seem to miss the good ones  .

Now for gods sake keep it going.

Arsenal were called 'invincibles' because they went a whole season without a loss. If we finish the season with 0 draws, what's our nickname?

definitely should be playing Shaw at CB and Reguilon at LB....keep it natural for those two positions

for as shit as we've been we are 3 points back of the almighty Pep and his 2billion pound squad of wankers

funny....another good performance when Rashford isn't on the pitch from the start. Garnacho and Antony worked their socks off.

Scott can score but still think we have to sort out the defensive duties for those 3 lads in the middle b/c Amrabat was isolated much like Mainoo was agaisnt Newcastle

Certainly should extend his loan, if he continues as he has been he might be worth buying if the price is right

Get in there.

Couldnt deal with losing to Chelsea considering they are a bigger shitshow than us at times.

Seemed much more energy throughout the team thankfully.

McTominay constantly scoring is wonderful and entirely not what I would ever have predicted.

Did I read that correctly?

I don't think there was ever more than a 30 second gap in that game between Chelsea doing something hilariously bad.

I mean I'm not going to criticise us because it was refreshing to see us be pro active and show a bit of aggression, and we should have won by more, but what a baffling opposition performance. What on earth were they doing?

I think this win shows that so much of sport is down to desire.
Everyone played with desire.

I said recently that I thought McTominay should only be used as an impact sub, but what do I know! Should have had a hat trick. He is good when he focuses on his good attributes. Passing isn’t great but carrying the ball and of course goal scoring now.

Our finishing was still frustrating though. We need to put the chances away.
Would have been over by halftime if we did.

I’m glad Chelsea exist.

Glad we got the goal that performance deserved in the end. A perfect performance? No, but one of the best of the season. Helped by how shocking Chelsea were at the back and at finishing, but you can't say we didn't deserve it.

Probably Amrabat's best game for us after a shaky start to the game. Fair play to McTominay, he's getting the goals. I still think having him in a midfield two means that we give up a lot but as long as he's one of our only goal threats it will continue. Garnacho was impressive again and I really feel he's starting to impact full games rather than just off the bench as we saw previously.

How about that, football can be fun! Best game of the season, if not the last couple of years. Should've scored 5 at the very least.

We generally looked good, and showed more fight and urgency in attack than we have in a long time.

And my word, Chelsea are simply dreadful at finishing off chances.

Don't know if it was Chelsea who were abominably terrible or we were just that good today. Either way a good performance.

Would've been just like us if we conceded late but deserved win on overall balance of play.
