Its not about stamford bridge. Refreering has been pathetic all season and most of the mhave gone against us . and some in our favour but it highlights the fact that the ref's rarely get it right
It's frustrating that we always get decisions against us at Stamford bridge

Bracing yourself when somebody is about to run into you is natural reaction, mostly to protect yourself. If he'd actually moved towards Hazard and put power into it then it would be a yellow, but he didn't.
If you say so. The second yellow was very debatable. The first wasn't for me.

He lowered his should into a sprinting opponent. How is that not a yellow? It looked like a NFL hit.

Lowering you shoulder when someone is sprinting into you is a foul? Protecting against impact is foul? Did Herrera move to block Hazard, or did he just keep his ground and Hazard ran into him?

Yeap. In 10-11 I still remember Zhirkov running straight into Smalling and promptly fell down inside the box, and the ref blew a peno for them which Lampard converted to help them win 2-1. The Chavs are a bunch of diving cnuts at home it's not even funny.

I can't stand this Conte cnut who gets agitated every time one of their pussies go down. Pathetic

It was not a booking, there had been fouls like that all night without yellows being shown, some not even called at all. He only sent him off becuase he just finishing warning Jones and Smalling about fouling.
I heard he told our captain about the foils then Herrera goes and makes a silly foul?

His histrionics tonight were a disgrace. He was screaming, as though his players had been assaulted, each time they were tackled. I'm glad Jose confronted him about it.

I can't believe that people don't think that Herrera meant the first foul. It was never a yellow for me but he certainly intends to do Hazard. Look at how his body is braced and you can practically see him put the force through his shoulder. Even if he didn't he wouldn't be standing there like that braced for impact. He'd be moving in to position. He knew exactly what he was doing.

The 2nd one yeah it's a foul but again that is soft. I think it was more the timing of it. Right after what looks like he has just told Smalling that Jones is on his last warning after 3 fouls. Then Herrera puts the ref in a hard spot. He can hardly call Smalling over again to have another word with him.

It's beyond stupid by Herrera and it was a very lazy tackle and those are the ones players will take advantage of.

Hopefully nothing gets made of the Rojo stamp but all in all it was some effort by the lads and I hope they can reach that level weekly. Play like that and we will rip open lesser teams.

It was a decent effort, but it was never likely to happen for us after the red. It was always gonna be a game of little chances and I don't we are the type of team that can thrive in that since we are so wasteful. Would be have been interesting to see how it would have went had Rashford done better with his chance.

I thought so too,

They would have comfortably beaten us 11 vs 11.

That period where DDG made two amazing saves, Im sure they'd have had quite a few more passages of play like that. Would probably have lost more than 1-0!
Bollocks.
Oliver dropped a bollock even lampard couldn't agree it was a 2nd yellow. First one debatable but the 2nd one no way that is ever a yellow card unless the referee has been unduly influenced by what has gone before from a completely different player. Very poor refereeing. And not the first time for that prick.
Felt we could have gone for it more late on but it looked like we were knackered which is understandable given the heavier schedule and the illness in the squad. Things would have had to go well for us to get through and as it turned out Oliver had a very big hand in giving them a semi final spot. Weak weak refereeing........
Also pogba needs to sort his fuxking game out. Was anonymous tonight. I expect more from him

It was embarrasing. We were outclassed. Had to hack them down to even compete. Herrera is so thick it is unreal, he does that sort of thing over and over again and usually gets away with it but he needs to know when and when not to dive in. Pogba was anonymous again as he always is against everyone other than relegation fodder.

to what?!

I said 11 vs 11, chelsea would have won. I still maintain that.

Well then Nostradamus can you tell me the lottery numbers on Saturday?
Before the sending off it was 0-0 and whilst we weren't threatening too much it wasn't like the Alamo.......

Lot of debate on Herrera, but hardly a mention of Rojo's stamp on Hazard and likely 3 match ban as a result of video evidence...

But you don't know that, and we'll never know. Herrera is our most valuable player in terms of disrupting the core of an opposing side, so losing that was huge. Fellaini just cannot do the same job, he's not mobile enough nor smart enough. With both Rashford and Mhiki stretching their defence we may have seen more opportunities in the second half, but it's irrelevant now anyway.

Rojo's stamp was not even debatable. Very obvious without much excuse. Although Hazard got some karmic justice for his flopping. Herrera's 2 yellows were bogus. He was the victim of Hazard's fakery on both.

Hazard didn't get any karmic justice whatsoever. It probably hurt for all of 5" and then he walked it off no problem. He got Herrera sent off and Rojo will get a three match ban. Unnecessary and stupid, did not achieve anything.

Not really sure about this. Why would he want out of the cup if we would only have two extra games to play at a neutral venue?
Jose knows how to pick his battles. This is a season in construction for him along with the tightest fixture list out of any of the top 4. He knew he'd still need to face spurs/arsenal/city. He chose to bow out with dignity today and rightly so

I hope Oliver gets to enjoy his Russian bribe money because the fuker is going to burn in hell. What a pathetic little piece of shit.

At least it wasn't 4-0. Better team went through end of.

Could only listen to the game because I was at work but from what I heard we played well up until the sending off, then any momentum or game plan we had went out the window.

We didn't look particularly threatening but it was always a containment job. I mean Chelsea are a counter attacking team so we sat off and it worked okay. De Gea made couple of outstanding saves but that was through more of Hazards brilliance and a corner rather than Chelsea cutting through us.

After we had we went down to Ten we rode our luck at times and Chelsea put us under a decent amount of pressure but we defended valiantly. Rojo, Valencia and Young were brilliant defensively I thought.
Chelsea deserved to go though but referee ruined the game.

Consistency isn't a problem - he's consistently piss poor.

He has had a few good games for us to be fair but no way deserves the hype around him I agree with that, not yet anyways. I try and look past his transfer fee, that is not by his choice but his mental state really seems poor, I Think that he believes he's better than he actually is.

Don't RAWK out. It was a shit performance but it wasn't biased. He got a lot of stuff wrong like Cahill's yellow and Pogba's too. He missed the stamp by Rojo. He was wrong to send Ander off, but we didn't make it easy for ourselves by fouling Hazard nearly every time he got the ball in the first 30 mins.

How did hazard get Herrera sent off? They were arguably harsh yellow cards, but Herrera was the aggressor and provocateur in both instances.

 have a glass of milk

I already had, still fuming though.

Aggressor and provocateur my ass. If that's the case then Costa should receive a mandatory yellow card for every 45 minutes of football he plays.

What was the point in Felli? Understandable if we brought him on to pump balls up to but did he really offer us more than what Micki could have stayed on and given us?

To me it looks like Mourinho conceded the match right then and there....of course after I saw the red for Herrera, I fast forwarded through the rest of the match.....did we ever get close to scoring? I don't know what needs to happen with Pogba but the lad isn't even playing like a 20mil player much less a 93 mil.

We can't win without Carrick and Zlatan in the team... 70 years between them.

They all were going after Hazard...makes me think Mourinho wanted to make it as tough as possible on him today...understandable...but cost us the match or a chance at winning it.

So Kante only scored twice this season, to date, and both are against ManUtd. Brilliant!
