There isn't a leader amongst them on that pitch. Bryan Robson, Roy Keane, Steve Bruce, Jaap Stam, Scholes et al would never have let that shambles unfold yesterday. Never.
Keown: The defenders played badly today because Jose destroyed their confidence by going in market publicly for new defenders.
this. They made Murray look like Messi and treated him with that respect. Can you imagine Rio or Stam or Gary Neville doing that?Bailly and Lindelof made a clogger like Glenn Murray look amazing.
A Fergie team defending like that (although it wouldn't happen) would have won that 4-3.
I hate it when I agree with the likes of Souness but he was right: this is the most average United team since the days before Fergie and redknapp was right when he said he had no idea what United's game plan was. I said it weeks ago - to howls o abuse - but we are little more than also-rans this season. Even gary Neville struggled to find positives because there weren't any. I can't name a man of the match because there wasn't one. The closest to it was fellaini who a least showed some passion for the shirt. Awful... and I wonder when the blind here will start telling us we'll beat Spurs 5-0

Really bad, the whole club feels like we're in a swamp and can't get out of the mire and things are getting worse. It's pretty obvious that we have papered over big cracks by winning a couple of minor trophies and qualified for the CL. It's good that we have done those things but there's been a huge financial outlay to make it happen and there is still zero cohesion on the pitch.
I feel like united have had no consistent idea of what to do for about 5 years now it's absolutely mental how we allst lack direction after all this time.
I don’t really see what he brings that Herrera doesn’t at the moment, and I don’t really rate Herrera all that much either!i dont see Fred. Hope he improves but he brings little to the team at the moment.
The worst stat is being outrun by 10k. That's unacceptable at any level. It doesn't take innate talent to put in some effort.
Jesus, where’ve you seen that? That’s really, really poor if true. The worst stat is being outrun by 10k. That's unacceptable at any level. It doesn't take innate talent to put in some effort.
The players don't want the ball, fred looks scared, Pogba is on a different wavelength to the others. How did our midfield get dominated by that Brighton side?We actually tried passing out from the back yesterday. I can't understand why when we try it all our players seem 40 yards away from each other. No one is showing to create passing options to beat the press. They all just stay glued to their stations
Can we cut Fred some slack? There was always going to be a learning curve for him, you don't go from playing in the Ukrainian league to the Premier League over the night. Give him time to adapt. The talent is there. The players don't want the ball, fred looks scared, Pogba is on a different wavelength to the others. How did our midfield get dominated by that Brighton side?
That right side is a mess, I'd put lingard or Rashford there.
I too am concerned about Rashford. He looks to be doing a lot of running but it's mostly aimless. He's got a new hairdo and tattoos, and the no.10 shirt but he's looking far less threatening than when he burst onto the scene. Huge season for him.I think the worst thing for me at the moment is how all the players we’ve been hoping would be amazing for us are turning out to be incredibly disappointing. Rashford sticks out as the most frustrating (Martial too but he’s just lost it lately). Rashford hasn’t been the cause of our problems but he’s been so inconsistent I’m starting to lose patience with him. He was supposed to be the next best thing - I know he’s only 20/21 but he needs to make this season his big, big season or I could easily see us getting another player in for his position.
Not slating Fred at all, but stating a fact that he looked fazed out there. It says more about the rest of the team than he himself. He was getting his head up and looking for passes but there was no intelligent movement in front of him.Can we cut Fred some slack? The thing is we scored 2 goals and missed some more despite that so only problem was we made really stupid mistakes and for a few minutes Fred and Pogba had a nightmare alsoExcept we had a pretty bad attack day as well.
