Job done, all but seals top 4 and hopefully we can get some rest into players leading up to the cup final.

Important win. We're obviously not going to be blowing away anyone at this point of the season so just gotta grind out a few more wins to finish the job

We made this so much harder for ourselves than it could have been. The ball over the top worked every time yet Rashford and Sancho couldn’t do anything with it, Eriksen also messed up many half chances. Still, an important win and a step closer to CL.

That's a great win. And I'm not pretty confident of getting 9pts before accounting for Liverpool losing any points, but I'll predict them to win out - thus the 9pt marker.

This was definitely one I had ear marked for a draw potential.

Good win. Can’t see how a win v spurs would have sealed top 4 but this doesn’t but it’s 3 points all the same

Our inability to convert chances is a huge issue. Just constantly invites pressure on the backline in the dying stages of the game. We definitely need a striker in the summer.

Maguire is the answer to a question absolutely no one is asking.

"Bring Maguire on to see out the game", and yet it's the very act of bringing Maguire on that usually causes the instability in the first place with which leads to us not seeing out certain games.

Pleasant surprise, I was pretty pessimistic about this game. Our OT form has been so improved this season.

Good win against a good side. Would come again. Enjoyed the food and the room was warm.

I might be alone but thought that was a clear penalty on Rashford

Big win ahead of two difficult always

We needed a win, we got a win. That's all that matters. However, a team with more quality passers and better decision making in the final third would have ripped Villa's high line to bits.

Nobody has been ripping them to bits, that’s why they’re 5th?

Phew, huge win with gutsy performance by a lot of the squad.

Good game from Bruno almost ruined by idiotically not getting that ball to the corner at the end. How can he be that stupid there and such a smart player. That goal would have been on him.

Quite an easy win, in all honesty. They didn't really have many chances.

We did mess up quite a few chances to create chances, though. Need to improve on that.

We need someone who can control the possession when Eriksen isn’t on the pitch.

Better hope 1 of the youth players can or we fleece some teams with our dead wood because we aren't gonna have any money to buy more than 1 player and we might not be able to do that

A complete first half performance. Despite scoring only one, I’d say performance-wise one of our most dominant 45 minutes. Villa was the most in-form team in the PL ahead of this match.

Yes the levels dropped again in the second half, which is worrying, but apart from Lindelöf’s goal-line clearance we controlled it in a decent manner. They didn’t really create anything.

Again our finishing is what’s costing us, fortunately one goal was enough today. Thanks to our brilliant defense + Casemiro.

Casemiro back to his best, but I must say Lindelöf was the best player on the pitch today. Simply immense.

Oh and ref: Lashing out in frustaration and elbowing someone in the neck late after the ball is gone, is yellow card. Bicycle kickin someone in the head is a yellow card.

Huge 3 points. Really poor from Bruno towards the end and we could've conceded because of it but it ended well.

Win, clean sheet and step closer to securing top 4. Fine day for us.

Huge 3 points towards a top 4 finish. Our attack is dysfunctional at the moment but that can't be helped this season. Well done Lindelof and Shaw, performed brilliantly again.

Excellent result, so more important than the performance. Lindelof was excellent again, I thought. He looks so much better next to Shaw. That clearance off the line, my god, even it if would have been offside...

So so critical to get 3 points with the next away game being so tough. Well done lads.

Huge, huge win. We desperately needed this, and overall we deserved it against an in-form team.

Having said that, the season cannot end soon enough. The second half was, once again, torture to watch. So much infuriating sloppiness. I'd be generous and chalk it up to having nothing left in the tank but it's not just this hectic season... I was hoping we could exploit the high line of Villa but the amount of overhit or underhit passes, poor touches, inexplicable decisions just gave them hope that they really shouldn't have had.

This team is so blunt. It's wild that Newcastle are so much better in attack than we are.

This was more of a job done performance than one we’d say we were clearly the better side. The better side yes, but Villa could look at this one as a match they should have gotten something out of.

Casemiro and Lindelof were excellent.

It was absolutely a penalty

Villa played such a strange game, they made it pretty easy for us though we still struggled to properly exploit the space behind. So many passes and touches that were just a little bit off

Still, we did enough and were the better team

Well done lads! Sometimes you just have to gut out a tough win.

Casemiro, Lindelof and Shaw MOTM stuff.

AV and Brighton out of mix for top 4 with that victory. Spurs should be out in a few hours.

That'll do, again we could have made it easier but all that matters at this stage is the 3 points.

First team to stop Villa scoring since Emery took over and limited them to not many chances so a good effort defensively.

Didn't see the game unfortunately but surely even the most pessimistic of our fans must see that our home form will take us to top 4. Just three more wins will do ( because Brighton ain't winning all of their remaining games with those fixtures, i'm very confident of that)

Good game. Lindelof has surely cemented himself as the deputy to Varane after the last 3 performances. The only way I see Maguire getting the nod ahead of him is if we play against a big target man like Calvin-Lewin. Would have liked to see us score more today. The chances were there. Wasn't happy with Sancho today. I thought he held the ball too long and wanted to dribble too much when a quick release to break their offside trap was on. Other than that, good game and 3 points

That's a really good win against a very good side.

They've not lost in ages, so for us to beat them is a big tick for us.

They beat the press really easily several times and the game was really stretched.

Did not result in shots on goal because we got back somehow but do that against Pool / City / Arsenal and we'd be looking at 2 goals atleast.
