Possession Football Tactics are King

Hodgson has been talking about this recently; saying that in future all English teams will have to play possession football. That wingers might be a luxury and not a neccesity in the future and that the new England team may reflect this.

The report sums up much of what we knew and experienced out in Ukraine and Poland. We can't ignore the trends and it was very interesting to hear what semi-final coaches had to say about possession.

England must maintain possession of the ball better and we have to work hard at international and club level. We know this.

When it means Pass success 9 of the EPL clubs are among the best 20 after the first 5 league matches in Europe.

When it means Possession it is 5 in the first 20 - Arsenal being the 10th in that list and Man Utd 15th.

Barcelona leads the possession statistics - Bayern the pass success.

Everton and Tottenham have made the most shots - followed by Real and Bayern. But on target the most shots Bayern has - followed by Barcelona and Fulham.

I do not really understand what possession tactics have to do with wingers...
