Possebon to Santos

My mistake. I thought transfer news went in the transfer forum.

Just says he's signed... a 4 year deal apparently. Santos acquired 35% of his rights, so I imagine some investors have acquired the rest. So there goes that one...

Not been the same since that nasty gash he took on his leg (from the little I've seen I might add) looked like a real prospect before then, oh well.

Good luck to the lad, hope he has a good career.

Owen Hargreaves

Possebon, in fact, is 65% Owen Hargreaves. This explains why he often appears to be injured when he isn't.

The note does not say.

Probably Joe Cole and United share the other 65% though.

Not sure if its United's policy to hold player shares. Usually Brazilian clubs can't afford a player outright, so they bring in one of a few companies dedicated to buying player shares.

Pity, never seemed the same after his early promise. Maybe a change of scene is what he needs. Good luck to the lad.

I haven't been following Possebon as closely these past years, is he still mint?

if so... Ganso, Neymar, and now Possebon? legit

After showing all the potential to become the new Carrick, he got injured in a cery poor challenge from Pogatetz. Alot of people blame this challenge for giving him some sort of mental scar which affected his confidence.

Persnoally I just believe he had a down turn in form coming back from that injury and never came out of it. A loan at Braga was unsucessful and I don't know the full story but he played 1 possibly 2 games after apparantly falling out with or going out of favour of their manager. He returned to us, played a bit for our reserves and has now signed for Santos.

I think being back in his native country at a slower paced football will do him a world of good, he's got a classy style on the ball that is easy to appreciate and he always came over as a good lad so I wish him all the best.

Went downhill after that awful challenge.

He looked a very good player as well, shame to see him leave but its good that he's managed to find a good club

Yep, he never looked the same after this:

Nothing to do with the injury. I can't believe how everybody is overrating him. He has always been a very average midfielder, from the looks of his outings in the reserves and limited first team appearances. I never felt he would make it for us or any top teams in the league.

I won't say most people were overrating him.

Certainly if you caught glimpses of him in the reserve, you'd notice that he was playing above reserve level. His touches and techniques were good quality and he had a good passing range.

But yeah, after that tackles he's been rushing things and stopped his runs and just didn't improve. Selling him will only benefit his career and both us and Santos.

Ganso and Neymar still look great potentially. Wouldn't mind a sneaky bid for Ganso, Neymar is too expensive.

He is a good passer and packs a decent shot and that is it. He's a bit like an slightly inferior version of Gibson. I'm not totally convinced of the both of them, due to their lack of pace and mobility, and their constant dwelling on the ball, only to lose it easily. A good midfielder has to have a high speed of thinking and awareness and this quality is not found in either of them.

Free transfer?

no transfer fee for us?

Anyone heard anything?

It can't be a free transfer though.. If it were a free transfer there would be no reports of Santos owning only 35%.. If he was free they could have owned him 100% unless I am getting my ownership of players idea wrong..

I don't know, its all much simpler in Europe. Here in Brazil shit's so fecked up that Fluminense's sponsors Unimed have some of the team's players on their payroll. I see these transactions every week and I don't have a clue what can/can't, must/mustn't be done
