Popular or important films that you've not seen

I've never seen any of:

- the Rocky films
- the Matrix films
- the Pirates of the Caribbean films

I'd like to see the first Matrix film but apart from that I don't think I've missed anything spectacular.

How about you?
Pirates is terrible - save yourself 9 hours of your life that you'll never get back otherwise.

Matrix - watch the first one immediately. Then leave the other two and just imagine that they were as good as they should have been. That will be a more pleasant experience all round

Rocky - How the hell have you managed to never see a Rocky film?

Most people seem to have missed out on the Godfather trilogy.. you are all missing out on so much.. great movies..

I haven't seen any of the Pirates of the carribean, other than that I think I'm covered.

i have not seen any of the Godfathers, Predators or Rambo filmes.

i have godfather trilogy on dvd, just havent got round to watching them.

Godfather is a great film, Godfather 2 is possibly the best film ever made but 3 is deeply disappointing. Predator is fun and 2 is more of the same if a bit more rubbish even if the effects are slightly better. Rambo is worth a watch but don't bother watching past the first one.

full metal jacket
casablanca
breakfast at tiffanys
any stupid fecking american pie movies
the neverending story

I agree with this 100%

Can't believe that so many have managed to miss the Godfather movies.

Pirates 1 was good, but it when downhill quicker than a ball of cheese in Gloucester.

I would like to see a proper pirate film, use the skills and technology in the Disney film, but with an 18 certificate, more raping, pillaging and debauchery. Now that would be a great film.

I have never, and I still can't be arsed to watch, seen LotR. I watched a bit of the first one, turned it off and had a J Arthur instead.

I never watched Pretty Woman until my ex put it on one night. I swiftly fell to sleep so can claim to never have watched in. In fact, i haven't watched most of the eighties/early nineties cheese laden love fests that have girls reaching for the Kleenex and blokes reaching for the shotguns.

Star Wars Series
Most of the Godfather series
Forest Grump
Most of the films on the film buffs top 100 lists.

I'm lacking in the old classics department things like Casablanca and the like.

Ditto. I've seen the 1st two Harry Potter movies, they were OK but nothing special.

I've never seen Brokeback Mountain or any of the Rambo films either.
The only Star Wars film I see was the last one when Anakin finally turned into Darth Vader and the only Bond film I've seen is Die Another Day.

why?! some sort of personal vendetta against good movies?

The business went into overdrive about then and I simply had no time. Started a collection of CD/DVDs after '04 with the intention of catching up but never quite got around to actually doing it... despite amassing over 300 of those things. Did see a movie or two recently though. One of them was Stardust. Thought the part where Pfeifer's boobs sagged with a 'poink!' after using up her magic absolutely hilarious.

No, he's just an old drunkard cnut.

Old?!

So the drunkard cnut bit is accurate??!

Have you read the Stardust comic (or shall I say graphic novel?)? It's brilliant.

Incredible story must see, I am not the biggest fan of Tom Hanks, but his acting performance is among the best I have ever seen here. 10/10
Its surely not that difficult to go through an entire film with a blank expression and speaking monotone. A lot of actors manage it even when they aren't supposed to.

There's no possible answer here that would reflect well on me.:)

Not yet. Been meaning to though. A big fan of Gaiman's work.

p.s. You don't seem to post as much nowadays. Why is that?

on the subject of gaiman... you should also catch the movie version of Mirrormask if you can. It's not your typical movie, but it's really... something. something good anyway!

And yeah, I started work at this new place a couple of a months ago? And unlike my old job, i've actually had to do work at this one, which = less time to waste on the caf :( going through a bit of a lull period at the moment though.

Thanks. Took the easy option and am downloading that on torrents now.:)

All that remains is to watch it once done.

Ah, work... the bane of all sane people. A distasteful four letter word if ever there was one. I don't do it anymore. I'll be a gentleman and not rub it in like I'm usually wont to do.:D

Cool! Tell me what you think of it when you're done!

 bah!!! things just seem so much better across the causeway!

Will do.

Actually, that may have been exactly the wrong thing to say at this point in time. Country's going to hell in the proverbial handbasket. But that's another topic of discussion for a different forum.
