Really? You have freinds and family who were actually with Arkan in Bosnia?

That's interesting.

Were they indicted in 1997 by the United Nations war crimes tribunal for crimes against humanity too?

Becks007 stop embarassing yourself.

P.S. If you're going to use the cyrillic version of Through Unity Serbia is Saved (CCCC), use the cyrillic spelling for СРБИЈА too. You should know better than an American.

Impossible.
Especially shit like this.

Thank YOU in advance.

;)

Good to see you're flexible and understanding. If you have a point to make, then I suggest you try using a more educated approach - otherwise it brings the entire discussion down.

So barcode.

Who else was indicted ? Just Serbs ??

feckwit.</strong><hr></blockquote>

This doesn't have anything to do with Serbs in general. Just one specific Serb: Arkan. For some reason you seem to object to his being characterized as a bad guy. He was a war criminal ffs.

This isn't a big anti-Serbian conspiracy. If Lazio players/supporters had been fraternizing with war criminals of other nationalities I'm sure that would have been mentioned in the article as well. Just so happens that Arkan was Serbian.

Is all this Arkan business not a convenient excuse to have a go at the Lazio fans again? It reminds me of the uproar in here when Andy Goram signed for United which all stemmed back to his links with republican terrorists earlier in his career.

Didn't certain sections of the Rangers and Celtic support seize on Goram's misplaced friendship to stir up the obligatory sectarian abuse during the Old Firm games at the time.

I stand by my earlier argument that it is not just a Lazio or Italian problem, it exists in all walks of life and is simply reflected in the demonstrations of a moronic minority in football stadia the world over. It's not even restricted purely to racism (where's the racism in the Arkan banners), it's down to prejudice pure and simple Jew/Gentile, Black/White, Catholic/Proddy, Croat/Serb.

When we start reducing whole swathes of humanity to simplistic labels then we oversimplify things and miss the best bits of life's rich tapestry. Hell I've even met plenty of scousers who I get on with and would class as good mates it doesn't mean there is no room for good natured banter but the language of violence associated with many of these prejudiced dick heads has no place in society, let alone football.

If your heart is filled with hatred, where is the room for love. Racism, sectarianism, xenophobia, religious intolerance are cancers in human society as old as time and can be stopped just by all wanting to. When do you stop an argument? when everyone on one side is dead, or when you can't remember how it started in the feckin' first place?

No it's not. I thought Arkan issue (rehashed by Becks007 for reasons beyond the scope of this thread) per se was rather non-important. First Amendment thing... you could argue that it's the same principle as burning the flag. You have the right to say, display whatever the feck (pardon the word here Raoul) you want. It's in bad taste imo, but certainly not illegal. Fine.

However, it is a different thing when these hate manifestations turn to violence. What's cool about throwing a scooter from the stands, or a bomb, or bottles, coins. What's cool about fascist/Arkan banners in a football game? What's cool about right wing parties using the football grounds as platforms for their ideologies? What's cool about ultras fighting almost every game. What's cool about getting caught in the crossfire? What was cool about British clubs getting banned for 5 years in Europe becasue of Heysel? Can't we fecking learn before it's too late?

Sing your songs and cheer your players. Have a go at the opponents, but do it with humor and STYLE.

nice to hear you talking about style... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Not initially. You brought it up to another level... out of the whole thread "Arkan" seems to be your major concern. And fighting with geordie.

Lazio fans are not racist except curva nord.Look at the scousers all are racists.
