Only played for an hour or so today, but got a shiny Aron and a shiny Roggenrola, which is a beaut.

Managed to find a high rated Lairon with IVs in the 9s and evolved it to a 2583 Aggron.
Nice. That should fare you well.
Unfortunately Aggron is a bloody awful pokemon. Really low attack and high defence, and actually having one with a high CP can set you back when raiding as the app will try to put that in your party whenever its slightly appropriate. You'll do next to no damage with it, and likely piss experienced raiders off as you'll not be contributing, especially when its a legendary raid and numbers / time are tight. Just try to make sure you pull it from your raid party if it gets included if you want to keep it. Not a bad gym defender though
Definitely worth newcomers installing Poke Genie, as it'll tell you what's good for different situations such as raids and PvP. Then again, you don't need to worry about the meta of the game too much either. I've been playing since the day it launched (on and off) and still don't fully grasp a lot of that stuff, or in many cases just forget it half the time. The aim of the game is to catch them all and I've just about done that while knowing very little about which are the best move sets and counters etc.

@decorativeed would you mind trading 2 more Pokemon at any point? Can literally be anything. On Step 5 of the Jump-Start Research where you have to do 3 trades. Done the one with you and getting two more done would be handy to use a lucky egg to get 60k more XP when I get the rewards at same time as making someone Best Friend.

Ugh! I've just completed the 'send 151 gifts to friends' task (really difficult when so many people don't open their gifts) and seen the All-in-One #151 2/4 task list. This is going to take a while!
Possibly stupid question but is there a way of seeing which Pokémon you have lots of candy for ie close to evolving?
