Can't you add as buddy and walk 20km with that?
That's on top of having 100 candy.
At least the water event starts on Friday, which includes your buddy earning candy twice as fast.

Took me three years to catch a Lapras. Then I caught two wild ones in a month and I think one of the special research tasks gives you one.Does anyone have a Tauros they would like to trade? I haven't even seen one yet, or a Lapras

I just caught an Eevee and noticed a symbol next to it (in the red circle). After I caught it, I'm sure I got an extra 25% stardust and 6 candy instead of the usual 3. I haven't noticed this before. Is it common?

Sounds like it was weather boosted. If you catch a pokemon that is of the same type boosted by the weather you get extra stardust, the pokemon has higher CP, etc
