Points countdown until top 4 is secured | 1 point left, 2 games to go | Can almost taste it...!

It’s really worrying that we lost to this Brighton team
Every team has bad results. They’ve beaten Liverpool multiple times as well and are a very good side. People do this thing constantly - “how did we lose to this lot!!?” based on one game which makes no sense.

So it's definitely 9 points (not 11) if Brighton lose this game?

They're a very good team but worrying about them winning all their remaining games was crazy. Liverpool will be closer to us.

It’s pretty valid when it was only a few days ago.

We're finishing 5th behind Liverpool. It's a disaster scenario that I can just see happening.
And yes, it's 9 points - we're going head to head against the Scousers.

9 points from 4 games, 3 of which are at home. Fans should be seriously pissed off if we let this slip.

Also, on the bright side, although i've said plenty of times i can see Liverpool winning all their remaining games, Leicester really start better getting their act together, starting against Liverpool next week, if they want any chance of surviving in this league.

We have 4 games left against teams who have nothing to play for, 3 of them at home. It's exactly what you want for the run in we can even Afford another slip up, Liverpool can't.

We should qualify from here, if we don't. They we thoroughly don't deserve itm

The players have six days of rest -- training isn't exactly rest, but you know what I mean -- between their last match and their next match. This should make a significant difference in the quality of their play. What I saw yesterday was a squad that was tired, mentally and physically. Wolves will be no pushover, but with the rest that the squad needs we should be able to grind out the win.

Looking at the remaining four fixtures it's not hard to see three wins.

Yes 9 with a Brighton loss tonight. Liverpool will certainly finish on 71 points and highly unlikely Brighton will. So 72 points is what Man United required (currently on 63 points with 4 games to play)

The dippers are the closest ones, Brighton wasn't worried about them, they had tougher games, The scum have Villa as there hardest game, and with Brighton losing to Everton it's game on for Europa league places.. Wolves is a massive game 3pts there and 3pts Bournemouth would take a load off if we get 4pts or less out of those games , I think it maybe curtains.

I would say it's clearly over and we have blown it. Liverpool will win out and I doubt we will win even one game with our current squad

May as well just rest our important players like Rashford,Bruno and Cas now for the cup final.

Thursday nights next season once again for us
I hear you, I'd rather go all out for top 4, the cup final is just that 1 off game anything could happen, we need 3 pts v wolves if not its gone with the scum playing Monday night, they will already know what they need to do. Can you see the foxes getting anything?

I think we'll beat Wolves and Bournemouth and draw vs Chelsea (cos lol)... Taking it to the final day.

My guess:
  1. City - 91 points (last day they rotate away to Brentford with title done)
  2. Arsenal - 90 points
  3. United - 75 points
  4. Newcastle - 73 points
  5. Liverpool - 69 points
  6. Spurs - 61 points
  7. Brighton - 60 points
  8. Villa - 58 points
  9. Brentford - 57 points

We have won 4 matches combined in the last 11 matches (all competitions), you are expecting to win 4 in the next 4. Hopefully, you are right, but I think the likelihood of that happening is infinitesimal.

Lost form among fixture congestion and having 6 of our last 7 away. First time since September we have a full week between games (full week before Wolves, full week before Bournemouth on the following Saturday, then Thursday - Sunday to close the season for Chelsea and Fulham). Just 1 away game out of these 4, and it's Bournemouth who even Chelsea beat the other day. All bottom half sides.

Form comes and goes very quickly. Beating Wolves next week would likely put us back into normal form and full confidence to deal with our final "easy" fixtures. I mean we still have to go and beat Wolves, but a week off to reset, rest, recover and train normally I think/hope will show, if we do then we'll just win them all. I don't think it's a case of we'll win 3/drop points in 1, or win 2/draw 2 or whatever. We'll either win them all or struggle to get even 5 points from those last games.

Let’s hope so. Getting fourth and not losing by more than three goals in the final would be a decent season for me. But I am afraid we won’t get fourth and get an Anfield-like treatment in the final.

I tend to be pessimistic by nature so hopefully I am wrong.

Wait a minute, you should be shitting your pants like everyone else who thinks we're going to lose 7 in a row. /i

Not people who think we’ll lose 7 in a row, just who don’t believe we can win 3 out of 4 given our current form & lack of goals.

Need to win next 2 Wolves, Bournemouth. Start there, 3 pts from 2 home games then. But lose or draw v Wolves or Bournemouth it's tough then. Chelsea WILL turn up v Utd that's a given so we don't want to need 3 pts from that game.

I feel like Newcastle have the hardest run-in and Liverpool the easiest. Shame they can't both lose.

Newcastle or Brighton or a draw? If Newcastle win Brighton is out of the race but Newcastle takes a major step. I vote for a draw.

Six points needed only if Liverpool win all their games. Tonight I will be looking to Brighton without McAllister to do a number on Newcastle who are above us on goal difference.

Brighton win for me. They have City to come. And they won't get anything there.

They’re also above Liverpool on GD. Newcastle can lose this and still get top 4 with us. We need 6 points. They need 6 points.

I think we need to win the next two. Not that I don't think we will beat Fulham at home. Just that I don't want the pressure on the players of going into that last game needing a result.

We need to beat Bournemouth away next game. And we have been poor away from Old Trafford. That then means one win in two games - assuming those around us don't slip up.

If we beat Bournemouth I’d be very surprised if we then miss out. Even if we don’t you’d back us to win those last 2 - neither team have anything to play for and we’ve been strong at OT.

I agree, I just don't want it to get to the last match.

We should beat Bournemouth and Fulham. Chelsea are a mess too, and I doubt Poch fixes that in a couple of weeks.

It is very doable

Not so sure about that. Fulham will have circled that one straight after the cup game and they are going to want to get some revenge and denying us top 4 would certainly fit the bill. Of course they may just come out too pumped up and lose their heads but we need to be ready for all kinds of antics in that one.

Poch wont be there yet but Chelsea have so much quality. They will be up for it.

Its done for me. How can anyone be worried Liverpool will get above us is mindboggling.
Liverpool have won seven in a row when they beat Leicester the other day. In our last seven we have won four, lost two and drawn one. Not a done deal sadly.
