Anti-doping prosecutors in Italy have requested a four-year ban after he tested positive again in the counter-analysis tests. He's 30 years old, so this would probably be a career-ender.

I think he'll be given a generous pay-cheque to become an ambassador for Saudi football or something like that. He may not even get 4 years, maybe 2 and then he might even play out there for a little while.

Some noises going around that he will escape the 4 year ban. Trial on the 18th of January.

A 6 month ban could see him return for the Euros or even sooner depending on when they start it from.

It’s weird to see there are still Pogba fan accounts going. Dedicating your online presence to the worship of any celebrity is sad enough, but directing it towards a footballer who has done nothing but disappoint for years and years now is frankly bizarre.

He is still high profile. It speaks volumes that he hasnt won anything in club football for years yet still has one of the largest followings online. There is an aura around him that transcends football in some ways and the storyline of a late career remontada appeals even more when you take into consideration the tribulations he has faced since his house was burgled during the CL game vs Atletico while he was still here.

He also hasn't appeared for France in almost two years.

At that point, he'll have barely played in like three years. Would they even call him up?

The same account said in a later post that a 6 month ban if issued would already have been in effect in the period he has been sitting out since so he would be back in March.
More than enough time to build match fitness. Any string of games for Juve and provided he stays fit he will go, regardless of performance level.

Great signing for Juve, really did a number on us, bravo!

I’ve never hated a United player more than Pogba

Goodbye you absolute bellend

Can he still play friendlies?

Shame if true. I didn't want to see him banned for long. I would like him to have a final chapter.

Shame how he wasted his career. He'll probably be happy as he won World Cup and league titles with Juve so plenty of good memories but could've been so much more given his potential.

Biggest waste of potential ever. In truth if we're being honest he made a horrible career move rejoining us.

Four years is WAY more than I expected.

Read that his lawyers rejected a plea deal as hoped to get a lighter punishment. He must be fuming with them if that’s true!

Keep telling yourself this Matthijs.

If I were cynical, that Jose laughing gif wouldn't look out of place here. Good job I'm not...

How does this affect him financially? 30 is pretty early to retire in todays game. Although, I’m sure he would have made enough over the years to be set for life. But perhaps he’d have to make some lifestyle modifications now he’s probably lost about 70% of his earnings for the next 4 years? (Just a guess)

This is assuming he doesn’t play again at a high level after this unless Saudi clubs are after him.

So he took doping in Italy? but never did it when he was in PL, a tougher league? bang out of order

Very sad. Lost his focus in terms of his football. A truly generational talent, basically washed up at 30. What a waste.

He couldn't balance being someone, a personality off the pitch, and being a top footballer. He should not have been anywhere near any drugs.

It's interesting Didier Deschamps used to get the best out of him.. he felt responsibility while playing for France, and he was surrounded by other top players.

I'll miss watching him.
